yes they do in Korea, Vietnam and some other asia-pacific countries, but also in China they still eat dogs in some regions.
when I was a college student one exchange student from China (not sure which part he was from) told me they kill and eat pet dogs yes, pet dogs as a celebration of house-moving.
that was quite shocking for me even though I'm asian. I mean we don't in Japan
China is a huge mixture of races and cultures, so there's no wonder some of them still do that.
also I suppose it's on the decline especially in urban area due to globalization and stuff, just like any other authentic culture.

Oh yeah I'm sure in the rural areas they do. I'm currently in a neighborhood of Shanghai, you can imagine with it being such a global city dogs are more often dyed pink or something rather be on a sandwhich.

I saw some BBQ pigs feet today tho, eh

Religion does a lot more that just give possible explanations to life actions. A lot of people have the need to believe in something, or need to believe in a higher power. Also, a lot of people need some sort of belief of higher power(s) to keep them on the straight and narrow, unfortunately. Take religion away and you're gonna have a lot of lost people that have a poor moral guidance. So yeah, religion is very important.

>important
>religion
pick one. religion isnt important, if it were all disappear tonight society would get along just fine if not better without it. also, these people arnt part of said religion therefore its rules dont apply to them, so they can draw whatever the fuck they want.

no, because pics making fun of the J-man already exist almost everywhere. hell, we usually get a comp of them at least once a month on FJ, so actually the muslims are being treated just like everyone else.

this event was probably ment to be a protest against the exact fucking thing that just happened. it was americans using there freedom of speech to tell the gun wielding psychopaths that just because they can threaten and shoot while hiding behind there religion and the worlds general protection of hateful bigotry disguised as equality, doesnt mean its going to stop or scare anyone. it was a stand against terrorism that obviously worked seeing as it pissed off the terrorists it was protesting against.
User avatar
#214 - Jenisist (05/05/2015) [-]
Okay I don't understand how you believe religion is not important. Because without it, our history books would be a lot shorter. Human civilization and anthropology would be a lot different too.

Of course someone else's beliefs dont apply to you. Draw whatever you want. That doesnt mean you should get a bunch of people together and do it on the sole purpose of pissing people off. That's where I have a problem with it.

It's actually not disallowed to portray Muhammad in Islam. It's disallowed in most Sunni sects of Islam, and it's a relatively new development.
#192 - darthblam (05/05/2015) [-]
Because Islam is the only religion in this day and age where people are being brutally murdered simply because of depictions of their prophet.
There's nothing to respect when they're that disrespectful of everyone else.

I see stuff like this as a showing that the world will not be bullied into "respecting" Islam's bullshit.
They're just that, insecure religious bullies that attack anyone that disagrees with them.
User avatar
#204 - Jenisist (05/05/2015) [-]
That's certainly not the entire religion though. And besides, why would you go about provoking extremist people like that anyhow?

I mean I agree with you there's disrespectful people in all religions, and so they dont deserve your respect in return. However irritating them isn't the answer. Neither is disrespecting the whole religion.

#63 - amuzen (05/04/2015) [-]
I could do that for texts only but it's kind of a hassle because I have to dig through the settings and it takes 3-5 minutes and if I do I will absolutely forget to turn it back on again later and risk missing important texts.

If I turn it off for my phone entirely then I also have to turn off the volume for my alarm clock and I risk over sleeping.

Plus that's another thing you kind of have to get into a habit of doing for it to work which is a pain for a lot of people.
User avatar
#67 - liesbetold (05/04/2015) [-]
My phone has button on the side that changes it to silent and the alarms always have sound because I made changed it that way. Is that not possible with all phones?
#73 - amuzen (05/04/2015) [-]
only buttons on my phone are the overall volume and the power, every other setting has to be accessed via the settings tabs or the quick settings, if I use my quick settings to turn my phone to silent it also silences my alarm so in order to turn it off for just texting I have to mess with the settings, not really sure how it would be done exactly but I'm sure tha tI can there's like a thousand settings on this thing.

User avatar #24 to #23 - Jenisist (12/31/2014) [-]
Depends where in the state you live, but overall its kinda crappy. I'm from the Gulf Coast, which is really the only place worth living in the state imo. The people here aren't like the stereotypical Mississippian you'd might think about. And we have beaches, but not white sand and blue water. The Mississippi sound is pretty dirty. So if you're thinking some tropical getaway well eh thats not it. But if you got a boat or are into fishing and stuff like that, its good for you.

Outside of the Coast the only other places worth living would be in a college town like Oxford or Starkville. And maybe Jackson the capitol would be worth living in, but I've only been through there so I cant tell you how it is round there.

Other than those places the state is just full of cows and country folks. So since there isn't really anything big in the state, it can be boring.
#25 to #24 - neosword (12/31/2014) [-]
Are you admitting to a country accent here haha
User avatar #27 to #25 - Jenisist (12/31/2014) [-]
I don't have one, people from the Coast generally don't have one.

Go a couple hours north from the beaches though and you'll definitely find some.

The Gulf Coast really is different from the rest of the state. If we could we would succeed into the state of South Mississippi.

Eh, its just out in the sticks you got people stuck in the past. Theres the white fols with their farms and ranches that have been in the family since the civil war. Which, being stuck in the past, you can imagine racial tensions are high. I've met some truly racist old white men in this state.

Then in the delta you got poverty, crime, and piss poor education. Its a shame, lots of talent has come to this state. But because we just dont have the money/resources, Mississippi lags behind the rest of the union.

The Coast is different though, because we have all sorts of different people down here. And we have income coming in all the time through the gaming business down here, and fishing. Also theres some big companies that have manufactures down here, even NASA is down here.
#30 to #29 - neosword (12/31/2014) [-]
well it really sucks that you are getting so capitalized that's for sure :/ also the whole lagging behind the rest of the union is cute because i have never heard that anywhere else haha x) honestly in Florida we have way to many racists but they are mixed in, there are no drawn lines.
