well the thing with these grooves is theyre deep enough for moss n shit but the pavement will stay as one piece on the whole (another big difference with the cement blocks you mentionned earlier), meaning anything that gets in there wont be coming out. also means that if one of those pieces breaks, theres no replacing them.

moss then catches the seeds and gives them a foundation and invites the microorganisms, and then, my good sir, itll all go to shit.

also , i worked in a building company for a year and a half or so, not saying im an expert but im not just bullshitting here :p

im guessing your pavewalk is just blocks of cement pressed close to each other in which the grooves are way thinner than in this picture?

i think youre not taking into account that youre driveway gets alot more pressure on it all the time compared to this.

honestly, considering it looks to be made for walking on id say the way it handles pressure isnt that important.

those grooves are going to be full of weeds in a year though, my guess is itll look like shit tbh

None of my sidewalk has weeds though. I agree with your pressure statement. I'm not a plant expert so I have no idea what constitutes a place for weeds to grow or not, but I would feel like they need to be in a "Hole" rather then a line as the seeds or whatever gets blown away easier then if it got stuck in a hole.

I'm not saying I'm an expert at all, just relaying here-say to those who are interested. I'm neither for nor against it durability wise. It does look quite smashing though.

isnt that for bigger blocks of cement though? theyre just carving it up like it looks like indivudual pavement stones (no idea on english word for this but you get it)
User avatar #49 - Jaredwho (11/01/2013) [-]
I'm not sure if the same thing applies to smaller versions of this, but I have this style of "pressed cement" outside my house as a walkway, and not one piece of it is cracked, as compared to my driveway which has a few cracks here and there.
