muffinssnuffims (04/27/2013) [-] Well banana staging is where you have parallel staging around the outside, but instead of it breaking off all at once like an onion's layers (which is usually just called onion staging), you just have pairs of boosters separate at a time, and the fuel lines kind goes in a spiraled circle inwards to the center stage. It's the most efficient staging category, you should always use it when you can. A lot of people recently started calling it asparagus staging for some reason though, not entirely sure why. I like banana better. There's a good deal on youtube about how to do it though. Oh and if you haven't been watching Scott Manley, then you should start. He's pretty hilarious most of the time, you often learn a whole hell of a lot of interesting stuff about actual space (he's an astronomer), and you definitely get way better at just everything in general. Eventually your KSP skills may surpass his, but it's still totally worth watching because it's a good show and you learn a lot. | ||

muffinssnuffims (04/27/2013) [-] I've become pretty great at both if I don't mind saying so myself, but only after a LOT of research and practice. Do you use banana/asparagus staging? Like how do you normally make your ships? Oh and I found another unused key: | #64 -

muffinssnuffims (04/27/2013) [-] Yup. Staging, Pitch, Yaw, Roll, Throttle & cut throttle, Translation in all directions, Camera & camera mode toggle, IVA camera mode, 10 action groups, abort, brakes, lights, RCS, SAS hold & toggle, sensitive controls toggle, switch ships, map view, time warp, pause menu, all the F keys for various saving and screenshot typical stuff, and... I can't think of much else. But that still covers almost the entire keyboard right there. Then of course there's the right click options in flight... Only keys not covered by the default controls by my count are ~, ?, :, ", enter, and tab. So I guess there's 6 keys left. Whatever. It's still much more comprehensive of the keyboard than any other game I've yet played, and like I said I wish I could use more action groups because I like to use them for home-made RCS. #57 -
