the length it took you reply, I'm expecting a reply in the next couple of days. But if sterilization is such a big concern in GMOs then our parents would've been sterile. And we as humans have more complex endocrine system than lab rats so our bodies wouldn't exactly react the same way. GMO's aren't that bad (i'm not implying that they are the greatest gift of mankind) m'kay, don't be misconstrued by anti-GMO documentaries you found on Netflix

The real reason people fly the confederate flag is either that they dislike for the north and want to fly a flag that is a sign of rebellion against, or that it is a way they can put up a racist symbol without backlash.
I know this comment is going to get a lot of hate but I really don't care. I think it's terrible that it is still socially acceptable to fly a flag of a group of people who were willing to go to war to be able to continue enslaving other human beings and then later by the KKK.

Like any conflict, there wasn't just ONE reason. There was more than just slavery, other reasons were maintaining the American Union, asserting states rights, dissatisfaction with the political differences with the south and north, ect.
So there are many who feel that the south was still wrong about slavery, but wish the 14th amendment hadn't stripped so much power from states and given it to the federal govt. There are others who are somehow still bitter about their grandfathers were treated during the Reconstruction period following the Civil War. It also separates them from North-Eastern Americans, who many Southerners (and some Western Americans) dislike. Others say flying the confederate flag is all about heritage, not hate for them.
I'm not 100% sure about all the reasons, I'm western, not southern. Just listing a few of the reasons I heard when stationed at Ft. Benning.

It wasn't so much about Slavery, slavery was just the final straw. The confederate fought for preservation of their way of life. Due to their large plantations and such, slaves were a necessity. Losing the free labor would have destroyed the plantations profitability, due to the enormous cost of actually paying the slaves to work. So Mistakenly people use it as a symbol for racism, but in truth it was a symbol for their stand against the radical changes imposed by the north, A banner for rebellion.

That's probably a better way to make the point I was trying to make. Though the whole deal behind it is that you can't just beat respect out of someone. If someone's lost their respect for you, you either find a way to get it back, or stop giving a shit about that person.
But to put it in perspective, when was the last time your boss gave you the "You will respect my authority!!" speech?
Do you remember how much it worked? It may have instilled compliance, but not any real respect. Next thing, the guy finds Mayonnaise on his windshield, or bleach in his gas tank. Or you can go right for the "punch him in his stupid face" route that I'm sure people on here will tell you, but the whole point is NOT hitting someone to get your way.
