The only people that hate on the US are the uneducated fucks and I might be lumping you in the category. The US gives over 30 billion dollars a year in foreign aid to developing nations while Russia gives under thirty million dollars, if not less. That is only our government. We have health stations set up around the world in developing nations to help the poor, our private sector donates billions of dollars a year to poor nations, and we provide the most medical and scientific breakthroughs the world has ever seen. Wow, big fucking deal that we went into a nation to replace a messed up leader that we had no idea would become ruthless. Big fucking deal that we went into a nation to go after an organization that killed thousands of citizens of different nations and while we were there we donated billions of dollars for aid and tried to help their government gain control of their people as they didn't have the means to do that (just like China around 200BC-400AD). Oh, what's that? Are we already out of Iraq after training their police forces and military after donating billions for security measures? Oh, what's that? Are we pulling out of Afghanistan after donating billions for security and training their forces to deal with Taliban? Yes, because if you were in the military you would know that the people in Afghanistan hate the Taliban just as much as we do, but they don't have to weapons, resources, or training to deal with them so they have to live in fear their entire life. Also, I would love for you to name a single nation we have taken over and held against the people's will. Oh, is three of the top ten nations in the world like they are now because of the US? You bet your ass they are. We had entire programs set on helping Japan, Germany, and South Korea recover and billions of dollars were pumped into their economies while other nations watched. You know, it must really suck to be uneducated, but I guess that is your choice.
TL;DR- you're fucking retarded

Adding onto Iran, as soon as the Shah was overthrown Reagan immediately turned to Saddam Hussein to instigate a military coup. The US actually took Iraq off the list of states sponsoring terrorism so that they could provide Saddam with considerable aid. Such as, ironically, CHEMICAL WEAPONS
#178 - lionelrichie (03/05/2014) [-]
One of the main 'oil' dictatorships that the US installed was the Gnomez dictatorship in Venezuela. Gnomez actually got a medal from the Eisenhower administration. He was a brutal dictator but it meant that US corporations had control of most of Venezuela's oil supply.
#180 - lionelrichie (03/05/2014) [-]
Adding onto this a group of US politicians asked major oil companies if they could provide cheaper oil to help poor families due to the high prices, the only one that responded was Citgo. A Venezuelan company. (after all the pre-Chavez governments were overthrown) THIS was heavily condemned by the US government and the media as Chavez just using his oil wealth to gain support. WHICH IS INCREDIBLY IRONIC AS if the US foreign aid is anything other than an attempt to buy support and influence.
#174 - lionelrichie (03/05/2014) [-]
these aren't going to be in chronological order. And some weren't installed but heavily supported.
- Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi
- Egypt, Hosni Mubarak
- Cuba, Fulgencio Batista
- Vietnam, Ngô Đình Diệm
- Chile, Augusto Pinochet Ugarte
- Dominican Republic, Rafael Trujillo
- Bolivia, Hugo Banzer
Instead of me listing the ones I know of you can just check this wikipedia list - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_support_of_authoritarian_regimes
#181 - clannadqs (03/06/2014) [-]
Once more, thanks Captain Hindsight. Most of these aren't even worth my time as they were replacing known dictators at the time and the US couldn't predict where the installed leader would take the nation. The above applies to Al-Qaeda as well. How would the US know what would come of that? How is this complicated? You act as if making a mistake that no one could predict is a sign of an evil nation.
#185 - clannadqs (03/06/2014) [-]
There is no counterargument to mistakes. Christ, it's just one retard after the other when it comes to discussing political issues. Oh, a little fact to help you out, the people of the said nations you are discussing are the ones who set the US plans into motion. All you did was take names and locations from Wikipedia and reiterate them as if you have a point. Once more, the US has made mistakes and the people we put into place seemed fit to be in charge of a nation. With 100% hindsight now we can safely say they were not who we wanted in power and we have even acted on mistakes made (Both Iraq Wars). Keep copy and pasting from Wikipedia stupid shit.
#190 - clannadqs (03/06/2014) [-]
Haha, I'm guessing your keyboard has special characters for those names also? How stupid are you? You have yet to offer any argument other than simply stating the US messed up and put people in charge when they shouldn't have due to having the wonderful ability of hindsight. You're also stupid enough to think that you can install a democracy right after a coup. Maybe you should read books on basic political affairs and how the political systems we have now came about. You just jumped into reading a book that was politically heavy without any understanding of what it takes to have a working democracy (a little tip, it's taken civilization thousands of years to have a decent democracy). You can't flip entire political systems overnight as this has happened and almost every single time the ones that over threw the government can't control the nation, doesn't have the resources to enact their system, and doesn't have the manpower to change set-in-stone systems from the previous regime. Look at China from the first and second century. Maybe you should read a little more than simple anti-American books that might be a little too hard for your understanding. Honestly, I don't even care what we have done in the past as we have done a thousand good things for one bad. If you're not from the UK, Canada, China, or Russia then I can easily sit here and say that at one point in time your nation relied on the US to grow and received millions to billions of dollars in aid. Hell, even today Brazil (whose idiotic citizens think they are first world) receives millions in foreign aid.
#191 - lionelrichie (03/06/2014) [-]
Our country has never relied on American foreign aid, and i've never said I was proud of my country, and i've studied multiple historians. You've just proved my point so thank you. - " it's taken civilization thousands of years to have a decent democracy", so what you're saying is that nations should develop government on their own. So the US shouldn't interfere in other countries matters?
#192 - clannadqs (03/06/2014) [-]
How did that prove your point? Japan, Germany, and South Korea are prime examples of what the US can do to a nation willing to comply. I never said we shouldn't interfere, I quite clearly, which you somehow missed, said that you can't change a political system overnight. That's why there were regime changes. Also, I would love to hear what nation you are from.
#193 - lionelrichie (03/06/2014) [-]
Australia, and by Reagan's standards in the 1980's we would be considered socialist. Free public education, firearms banned, free public health care. Japan is in economic ruins. For every 2 nations you can list that America has brought peace to, I can name 5 more brutal dictatorships supported by the US government. I'm not saying the US is evil or whatever, but they are not the innocent hero's you make them out to be.
#194 - clannadqs (03/06/2014) [-]
Where did I say we were innocent? Oh, we funded you guys and lent you troops in World War II because you guys came crying to us. On top of that we have helped you in dozens of ways medically from the CDC all the way to the WHO. Prior to 1980, the world was a nasty place opposed to today. I also think we have discussed the dictator point enough as you just literally reiterated your opening statement so there is not even a point in addressing that now.
#165 - 2scared2login (03/05/2014) [-]
I agree with you 100%.
But we did conquer the fuck out of the Philippines and slaughter their rebellious people by the 1,000s. All while having the news report that the people of the Philippines "wanted" our control and to join us, meaning the United States Government completely lied to news sources about pure murder in the name of a better tactical position.
American - Philippine War.
But, no. I agree with everything you're saying. You just added a sentence, "I would love for you to name a single nation we have taken over and held against the people's will."
#170 - clannadqs (03/05/2014) [-]
Well, you did call me out and I'm not going to say you're wrong, but I was referring to more modern times. The end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century was a time of industrialization and dozens of nations were running around to find land and colonies. What I should have said was "after World War II", but it's too late for that.
#143 - oaaaa (03/05/2014) [-]
i m from germany, and i dont like the shit the goverment does. we invade other countrys just to get oil. our allys torture civilians and shit. we are the bad guys in the world. not the "terrorists" what the press wants to make us believe. but hey, just love your country and live in your dreamworld.
#145 - oaaaa (03/05/2014) [-]
ex soldiers from israel told the press that they were ordered to go and break pregnant womens legs. and they did it.
we invaded iraq because they had "toxic-weapon-factorys". after the country was under our controll, 0 (in words zero) factorys were found. politicans then said that its for the theretory and not to free the people from saddam hussein or any weapons.
#151 - clannadqs (03/05/2014) [-]
Give me the source of that. That never happened in Iraq or Afghanistan. Also, you're proving once more to be uneducated. Nations went into Iraq the second time due to atrocities by Hussein, threats of nuclear weapons, violations of international law, and violations of set laws placed on Iraq alone due to the Gulf War. Keep spewing info out of your ass.
#158 - 2scared2login (03/05/2014) [-]
oaaa you are literally fucking retarded, gtfo this website, you uneducated scum
#154 - clannadqs (03/05/2014) [-]
You seriously just gave me the name of a fucking news company? Wow, "Bro, you want the source to that article, just look up CNN". I just listed the reasons. It must be wonderful now that we have hindsight. Imagine if Iraq did have nuclear weapons or biological weapons. Hussein was the one making the claims and we had no reason not to believe him. They broke dozens of regulations put in place by the UN and the US acted.
#114 - 2scared2login (03/05/2014) [-]
forgive my anti imperialist ways but there was nothing wrong with tat it work and people were just intimidated

at least this time it's a true man of power doing what's gotta be done instead of some spineless puppet with big ears who does what he does for the sake of playing world police
