Only those who reeeeeaaaaally like Homestuck.
I think that might have something to do with it.
When people really like something, it can grate on those around them who aren't into it.
Then you add the internet's ability to amplify opinions, and it makes it seems like people despise it.
Here's something tangentially related and possibly entertaining!
#378 - neutralgray (06/23/2014) [-]
Yeah, it's understandable. I used to love MLP myself, now only have a casual interest in it. Yet for some reason I despise even seeing Homestuck. I don't hate on the fans themselves because I realize I've been viewed the same way in the past so I know what that's like. But yeah. Just goes to show, you can have two crazed obsessive fandoms that incessantly push their interest onto everything and not have them be the same group of people, you know?

Technically it is too expensive.
Spending the time and money to make a female character with all of the associated clothing, animations, voice acting, etc.etc. would not pull a large enough amount of additional sales to make up for the resources spent.
Out of the entire Mass Effect Trilogy, only ~18% of the players played as a Shepard.
By having only male co-ops they would not loose a significant, or even relevant, demographic that would demand that they -must- play as a female, or have female options available.
Compared to the cost reduction of not having to double the resources on playable characters.

except the previous AC DID have female assasins, and let's not the forget the female lead in the vita spin-off. it can't have been that hard to take the female designs and just build on it. PLUS, this new AC is even fucking reported to have no fucking multiplayer. smells like laziness to me

Actually, they're not allowed to yell back because the main rule they abide by when dealing with citizens like this is to contain the situation, not further provoke it by yelling back.
#151 - Womens Study Major (06/17/2014) [-]
A cop shouting at a civilian is not an abuse of power. Anyone has the power to shout at other people.
Abuse of his power = arresting him unlawfully or, I dunno, shooting him or something.
#53 - Womens Study Major (06/17/2014) [-]
No, you stupid moron, that's not how it works. Police have the ability to control those who are not acting under the control of the laws. If you step out of line, they put you back in. Someone yells at cops, the cop yells back. Someone hits a cop, cop hits back. Someone shoots at a cop, cop shoots back. They aren't gonna hold your fucking hand like you're a fucking princess. Fuck that shit.
#37 - shadowgandalf (06/17/2014) [-]
No, thats not how it works. If you go out of your way to fuck with the police, then you are not only being a massive douschebag, you are being in the way of his work, and thus wasting peoples tax money.
In Denmark, that would issue a fine worth around 300 USD. If you continiued it any further, you'd also get arrested.
#29 - Womens Study Major (06/17/2014) [-]
No, you're a fucking idiot. You don't treat me with respect, I won't treat you with respect. What are you a fucking caveman like the civilian in the picture? You're fucking pathetic asshole.
#16 - ncsutroll (06/17/2014) [-]
the first sentence of that is correct... but the cop reacting to the guy getting in his face is not an abuse of power and it sure shouldn't be affecting "the trust of the people"
cops don't get paid that much and as such aren't always going to deal with all of your shit - don't go out of your way to fuck with them
#161 - letting (06/17/2014) [-]
"don't get paid that much" Some get paid over 100k a year and are expected to act above normal citizens, they are not supposed to lash back at criminals in a criminal manner just because they "started it". That is both childish and ridiculous. Police believe that they are above the law because they enforce it. This is not the case and needs to change.
#177 - collateraldamageco (06/17/2014) [-]
1. You need to be on the force for like 20 years to even be able to make that much
2. Yelling at someone isn't criminal
3. Not all police believe they are above the law, most become police because they respect law and want to uphold it.
Please educate yourself on matters before commenting on them

The guy on the right is an asshole yes. But police have a sacred responsibility that comes with the powers they receive upon becoming police officers regardless of how much they get paid. There job is to apprehend people who appear to have committed a crime and for the courts to decide whether or not the did commit a crime. With the exception of a circumstance were the lives of the police or a civilian is threatened in which case deadly force may be necessary. Any police officer who takes punishment into his own hands/ abuses this power to harass people when a crime has not been committed should not be a cop. Policing is a shit profession to be in, yes but for those who decide to live a life of service suffering is often required and there sacrifice should be respected. (excuse the grammar)

I'm just putting into context the duties of police in reply to ncstroll in which saying that cops don't get paid much so it's excusable that they aren't always going to deal with people shit. I'm not certain where I stand on cops yelling back if they are yelled at. I don't think I would if I was a cop if only for the reason of it creates a less well defined line of not getting personally involved in a situation other then my official duty's. At the very least its unprofessional.
#102 - poppenhoffer (06/17/2014) [-]
The duty of an officer is to protect the people. That's pretty much it. Hell, according to the Desmedt use of force continuum that's used in the US, the cop could pepper spray the guy for getting in his face like that because according to said continuum, the officer is always allowed to use one level of force greater than the suspect is using (that's to say if suspect takes a swing, cop can taze him. Guy has his own tazer and tries to use it, cop can shoot him, etc.). That whole "cops need to act a certain way" thing is bullshit. If you're dealing with someone who may get violent, the last thing you should be doing is trying to be as polite as possible because they'll think you're weak and then they may take a swing.

A cop yelling at someone isnt seen as abusing power or abusing in general cause Cops have set the "abusing power" bar pretty low, So a cop yelling at someone isnt even noticeable. Cause there is a LOT more things they could be doing. Keep in mind, the dude is allowed to have a gun, so if chooses to yell at you, count yourself lucky.
