I know for sure it takes up CPU usage. You can see it in the task manager. I'm not sure about RAM though.

how did you get rid of the taskbar though, i've always had a problem with it

Right click the taskbar (where there is empty space), click properties, then checkmark the "auto-hide the taskbar" checkbox. It'll at least hide it off-screen till you move your mouse by it. If you don't like that, there is probably some way you could modify the registry to not show the taskbar at all.

It's still BARELY visible though...so he probably did something other than the option I said. (look closely at the bottom of mine it's still BARELY there.)

Love rainmeter, tho I had a lot of error/glitch problems with it on XP. Is it better on W7?

the only "hide taskbar" i have is the auto hide. what do now.
#139 - aznsquishy (09/09/2012) [-]
And when I move the mouse to the bottom of the screen
#137 - aznsquishy (09/09/2012) [-]
Auto-hide works though, because you can still access your taskbar, but only when you place your mouse on the bottom of the screen. With auto-hide looks like this

If you want, download a program for an object dock (RocketDock/Stardock) and it comes with a "hide taskbar" option, and you don't have to have the dock active.

well i am limited in my "skills," how do i take the recycle bin off my desktop?
User avatar
#145 - aznsquishy (09/09/2012) [-]
Download a program called "Fences". It's primarily used for organizing your icons into little sections called fences (obviously). It comes with a nifty feature that hides all your icons when you double click the desktop, and then brings them back if you do it again. I don't even think you actually need to place a fence, it just does it.
