It seems like the abuse is increasing, sadly enough. Its making the ones still built with integrity to be overshadowed. They deal with the rebellion while the abusers enjoy it. Its sickening.

I don't think so, I think that shitty and abusive cops have always existed but because of the internet we know more about them. I have no doubt in my mind that cops were using unnecessary force in the 50's, I'm guessing that some cops beat the shit out of hippies in the 60's, and there were probably officers who raped woman in the 70's. But no one knew about it like we do today, they didn't have camera phones or dash cams so any shitty cop could just get off like nothing happened.

With this said, I'm basically selfish, and if morbid obese people (with no genetic or thyroid issue causing the overweight) don't want to eat less (I'm not even saying exercise, just eat less and healthier), then so be it, there's too much people in this world anyway

Somewhat similar cool cop story... my parents had an officer arrive at or house due to domestic violence disturbance calls by the neighbors. The officer ended the situation cleanly and helped them settle their differences. After that, he would swing by periodically to check in and make sure everything was alright out of his own free will. He even let my sister and I sit in his car and play with the lights and sirens.

Dude was cool as fuck for a cop.
User avatar #95 - HailtotheKing (03/08/2014) [-]
See, I understand why some people hate police officers. They can ruin a really good night of fun or take your drugs away or give you a ticket or any number of little things that can piss you off. But at the end of the day they are there to help you and help the people around you. Yes, some cops are assholes and some will use their power to fuck you (metaphorically AND literally in some cases). Those numbers are small and, with my past experiences with cops, most are good people.

Is that jonah hex movie really that bad?
User avatar #1823 - HailtotheKing (03/07/2014) [-]
Well here's the thing. Jonah Hex has no superpowers. At all. Period.
That's what makes him so cool. He's better than every enemy in at least one way. He could be smarter or faster or more creative or anything like that but at the end of the day he's just a guy with a gun. He has taken down empires, blown up entire towns, even killed Superman just by being who he is.

BUT THEN THE MOVIE CAME ALONG AND GAVE HIM THE FUCKING POWER TO BRING BACK THE DEAD. Like, seriously? They took away the most interesting thing about the character. It would be like it they gave Batman the power of telekinesis or made it so Lex Luthor has super speed. They undermined an amazing character just for the box office.

Your best bet might be to just google "Stranded on a planet sci fi novel" (if you already haven't), but I would imagine that most sci fi versions of that genre would end up like Pitch Black (A Vin Diesel movie).

I'd say not; they're short detective stories in the classic sense, so no SF.

I do recommend giving them a try though, they read fast and are fun, and give a new perspective on what Isaac Asimov was capable of in his writing.
