I think it's far use when maybe someone gets to skip ahead in a lunch line because she's not feeling well and just needs to go eat right away (especially if they're getting dizzy or lightheaded), or wants to lay down during class and goes to the sick room, or gets free tea or something. Some girls really do need to sit out of activities, or work somewhere else where they find it easier to focus. They also might just genuinley need to lay down (strategically) on the couch, curled up in a ball, eating chocolate and watching the Breakfast Club.
Personally, I think it's okay to stay home from school or less serious commitments when a girl is having her period, if she's just having a really really bad day.
When I first started mine, by brother came home to find me laying face down on the living room floor, half crying, half just letting tears leak from my eyes, and humming with my cat sitting on my back and Fresh Prince reruns on TV; I really did feel like if I moved, I'd collapse in a heap with a migraine serious enough to get the government to allow me to shoot myself in the face to spare myself from suffering.
It can get really bad, and usually the best idea is to just assume the woman is telling the truth, because you're not in her body and you don't know what she's experiencing.

My teacher lets me make tea in class everyday because he knows I have some anxiety and depression that I'm working through and I never get enough sleep (unrelated to periods).
To other people, it probably looks really unfair, but they don't know the full story, and he'd do the same for them if they were in my position.
It's all about percpective.

Some women are just bitches in general, but don't let that cause you to make unfair judgement or assumptions of other women because of it.

Hormone levels and severity of cramps (etc) vary from person to person.
Some women need to take iron supplements to stop from fainting or becoming anemic. Others need to go to extreme measures to deal with mind-shattering cramps that can hurt enough to make them vomit, or faint.
Birth control pills help with many of these problems, but may carry unpleasant side effects on their own, like weight gain and health problems. Usually these are minimal at best, but weight gain can be 20-30lbs for some women, and the pill may cause heart problems, stroke, or more.
Periods can also cause womens boobs to be extremely tender, their backs to hurt, and a bunch of other shitty stuff.
Luckily for some women, cramps stop after childbirth, though for some women they worsen, or are simply never a problem.
It's all genetics and luck, and either way, it's not a healthy process. Tampons and pads have chemicals in the from the manufacturing process, blood is EVERYWHERE, you probably have to sleep differently to avoid waking up in the red sea, and tampons can actually extend a woman's period by 1-3 days.

Oh, and some women's periods can last for months at a time.

MONTHS.

oh, and the hormones that make some women bitchy, or happy, or crazy horny, can also cause women to be suicidal.

every

single

month.

Ugh when I went on birth control mine lasted for five weeks. Thank god mine are not very bad but even then it was just getting excessive. I started getting lightheaded after a couple weeks. Worst part is getting birth control made me go from no cramps or anything to suddenly having bad cramps.
#129 - anonymous (05/14/2013) [-]
The worst part is when you wake up in the morning all the blood that had pooled overnight floods out at once and there isn't anything that can handle that big rush of fluid so there is always blood everywhere. Unless you're lucky enough to get really light ones.
User avatar #202 - lustuad (05/14/2013) [-]

ya i completly agree with you I've just known some dramatic women in my life who have used it as an excuse. I know for some it is very serious. Just saying some tend to abuse the situation like people pretending to be war veterans

An adult can be just as innocent and vulnerable as a child
User avatar #121 - vatra (05/03/2013) [-]
Maybe if the adult has Downs Syndrome.
#786 - anonymous (05/04/2013) [-]
People like you are the reason people like that don't exist. If you try to be an idealist, innocent and righteous for your whole life, people like you are there to slap them down and tell them that's wrong.
User avatar #814 - vatra (05/04/2013) [-]
By all means he can be however he likes, but as a whole, adults are not innocent, the world is imperfect and tends to corrupt anything that has been here awhile.
#816 - bluedwarf (05/04/2013) [-]
Perhaps you have heard of those powerful families that exist even today, and I assure you there is at least one who is sheltering their daughter/son from the outer world, and actually another example came in my mind, are you by any chance familiar with that comedian that said something along the lines: I will masturbate tonight, tonight and I will think of you when I do it; to that hard core christian activist.

Remember there was a lot of content about him here on fj. That girl I honestly believe is as clean as a child. She might not be the brightest but that's not what we are discussing here anyways and in my opinon this trait contributes to the whole innocence picture that we have of kids.

Funny enough, since you already mentioned Downs syndrome, I think in an attempt to beat your point I actually helped you prove it .
User avatar #817 - vatra (05/04/2013) [-]
To your last point, a little bit yes lol.

As for the sheltering, all that accomplishes is not allowing the child to become properly prepared to deal with the real world, I have a friend that was sheltered her whole life, she hates her parents for it.

Lastly at least in my opinion, innocence is synonymous with lack of experience. So in essence that would mean you aren't truly living. Of course children get a free pass on that as they haven't had the opportunity to live yet.
User avatar #818 - bluedwarf (05/04/2013) [-]
I was to lead this into a heavy discussion but decided to delete what I wrote. I'll end it with taking my hat off to you, and stating that your comment of them all, (more or less) encaptured the essence of the reason behind murdering children repulsiveness.
User avatar #819 - vatra (05/04/2013) [-]
Thanks mate. Guess it all worked out then!
User avatar #770 - bluedwarf (05/04/2013) [-]
Hey dude, don't be mean to him. If he believes in some hard to imagine ideals I think that's rather amazing, and not something that needs to be put down.
User avatar #815 - vatra (05/04/2013) [-]
Fair, enough, I clash with Idealists, I'm a realist and it annoys me when people try to claim something is better or worse than it actually is.

It's a majority thing, with the majority being cheap dumbasses. We ahve the minority who are smart and understand the dangers of a gun in the average home, then you get the rest who either don't have a gun case because it costs money/my kids are smart, they won't touch it, and then the owners who do have a case, but keep the key somewhere where anyone can get it.

Scary but interesting, apparently the statistics for accidental shootings involving kids is about 500 deaths a year in america alone. Don't know if it's exagerated, but scary if it isn't.

In relative terms there's probably been more kids dead through messing about with their parents gun then there have kids choking on toys in a kinder egg. If a child chokes on a kinder egg toy, it is probably one of three reasons:

1) Kid's too young.

2) Kid's so damn fat he inhales the whole fucking thing.

or 3) Nigga went full retard.

If I remember right, there has been a total of 7 deaths involving a kinder egg, and that's world wide.
User avatar #151 - GhandisPimpCane (04/21/2013) [-]
Ya i agree with ya. I feel like there should be a mandate with selling a proper case (with a lock) for each gun they buy, unless if they buy a safe to hold multiple guns, so kids could not get their hands on it. I own a rifle and even though i have no kids I still make sure that it is in my case safely locked.
User avatar #165 - cheatman (04/21/2013) [-]

but kids can still get their hands on their parents weapons, can't they?
#139 - anonymous (04/21/2013) [-]
Not if the parents are smart and understand firearms. I grew up in a house with guns. My dad kept them away from us unless he, as a former Marine, was teaching us how to use them safely and properly. And not in or around our home.

There were no gun related accidents in my house.
User avatar #134 - GhandisPimpCane (04/21/2013) [-]
Ya thats why most (responsible) gun owners own weapon safes/lockers. However, most people are idiots who think its okay to keep their gun under their bed or not locked. It's the idiots that ruin everything fun/needed in this world ,not the normal people. Just like video games rated M. You can have as much fail safes for selling a product but people who were not meant for the product will get their hands on it (kids) and fuck everything up cause their idiotic parents bought it even when they dont have any knowledge about the product.
