Learning a new language, in general, is hard. That being said, English is one of the easiest languages to learn but it's still hard to learn. Just easy in retrospect.

It is not, actually. I'm spanish and I learnt to speak English, Italian, French and even motherfucking Latin, and believe me, though Italian was really easy, English is still easier to speak for me.

I'm French and I studied both English and German, I can tell you that English is (by very far) the easiest of these 3 languages. French is way harder to learn (for example you have to learn all the gender for each and every noun) and I'm not speaking about German : There are 3 fucking noun genders, and the most fucked up thing in languages : declinations ! This shit made me stop learning German ...

English conjugation and grammar are quite easy to learn IMO.

i think it would depend, i mean i can't believe it would be easier for a spanish or french speaker to learn japanese than english. Every language has its good and bads points but, for me, its hard to see an argument that english is as hard as hard as japanese, mandarin, or arabic because to me those languages look like scribbles, at least spanish speakers can recognize our letters and their are some similar words to help in translating. speaking of spanish they went way overboard with their verbs, in my spanish class we learned 13 different tenses that means every verb (if you don't count vosotros) has 65 conjugations, 65! that's insane!
