It's still fucking stupid.

The lyrics are thought out in the songs that seem stupid, that why "misunderstood" is such a big thing with him. "Woman of my dreams, I don't sleep so I can't find her" He was addicted to cough and sleep medicine before going to jail and is reflecting on his troubles with insomnia. Also, for rappers, “to sleep on something” is to get caught unawares or by surprise. Wayne doesn’t get caught by surprise because he knows what’s up when it comes to the rap game

I can understand that. What I don't understand is why his biggest fanbase are white suburban kids. I don't get what's interresting about some guy rapping in autotune about shooting people and doing drugs. In my opinion, half of the point of a song is to understand and familiarize with the lyrics.

Don't get me wrong, I love rap. I can see quality in certain "gangster" rappers aswell, but I don't get it.

He doesn't even really rap about shooting people. And some people can relate cause he has song about his dead father, a few songs about his city suffering from a disaster, a song about a girl that's insecure and doesn't know how to love, a girl that shut him down because she didn't think he was good enough and always went after the wrong men, etc.. you get my point, not all his songs are the same, and the songs I got those lyrics from are from a song that sounds like a freestyle but isn't, you get me?

Yeah, I get you. Lil'wayne is far from the worst out there, but you can't deny that he mentions killing and ghetto life, plus he mention pussy like 3 times a song..

I get what you're saying, but I can't see how he's doing that good when there are so many that rap better and has lyrics that more people should see themselves in.. Like RA the rugged man, Kool G Rap and Killah Priest has released a lot of good shit recently, and the list goes on..

Yeah I don't like how some people treat him, but I agree, the overuse of profanity it unnecessary.

Speaking from personal experience, since I met the guy in person, he's a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Not quite capable of running an entire nation, but he is still pretty smart and funny.
