Would be nice if they would give " flat dollar increases" for cost of living raises to Social Security recipients, instead of "percentage of what you already get increase", which broaden the gap between rich and poor. That's a no brainer but they won't DO it

Europe/Canada. Of course you are rewarded for hard work and not equalized out with everyone else (it's not capitalism), but the laws are set up so that if you had a head start on everyone else, you'll probably pay a bit more. And if you're so amazing that you get way out far ahead (millionaire), then isn't more humane and moral to help out the one's who are just down on their luck or have had really shitty stuff happen to them, or just plain not intelligent enough? Isn't it also in your best interest to make sure you don't get too far ahead/they don't fall too far behind? If the last-place dude is WAAAAAAY back at the first lap, you know his next 10 items are all blue shells. Hey, you're on lap 10 anyway, you can afford to wait for him to catch up a bit.

Lastly, the "game" of life isn't to come in first - it's to enjoy it or die trying.

I think it's fair, and in the perfect world that would be so. But how I see it is that life is not fair..People are greedy cunts. And trying to legally fuck these people, I think makes them more willing to fuck those who can't protect themselves, know what I mean?

The issue lies not in the economy but in human nature. Imagine if the nice people got all the money?

But then I wonder what does nice mean... I don't know.

And I agree. I'm learning that now. I used to want to be some big shot mililionaire and shit. Now I have humble dreams of finding my sword school and just studying the art of blades. Nothing more nothing less.

You're not fucking over Apple when you take away their tax haven and force them to pay taxes on another 500billion of income a year that every small business can't do. You are quite literally because of the tax haven law, fucking over companies without the means to transfer funds to/from tax havens with impunity. Sure, the occasional self-made millionaire would, under tax reform, pay more than he would today, but it's been my experience as an Amercan living in Germany 10 years: everyone doesn't mind paying taxes. The poorer pay less than in the US, the middle class pays about the same, and really only the wealthy pay more than in the US. And I#ve never met someone here who doesn't gladly pay taxes. The infrastructure is impeccable, crime is way down (nobody has to steal/kill to eat or provide for their families), everyne can study what they want without fear of crippling debt. Hey, for 2 extra percentage points in taxes for people earning more than 100k/year, that's a no-brainer.

Of course, the EU has continuously been an example on how we should run our country from health care to education to taxes.

When I say fuck over, I mean make them change their greedy ways. I'm not saying they deserve any sort of special treatment. I honestly don't think anyone should have more than a few billion. Even Bill Gates has said its the same fucking thing after a while. But to me, and again, I don't know much as a twenty year old New Yorker, I just think the system has been so screwed by oligopolies and legal loopholes that any small tax reform will only result in these big guys turning their attention on the lesser.

that's sad. That's the social equivalent of the elephant in the room. If you mandate economic fairness and punish anyone who goes against it, then the elephant will disappear. If we all continue ignoring it, who's to say it won't get bigger? It might hurt a bit at first, but these are called growing pains. Don't make your decision based on fear - make it based on what is right.

Whales, dolphins, Sharks, seals, sea lions
Anything that is my size or larger scares the shit one of me, but only when I'm in the water with them
I'm out of my element, so suddenly I feel vulnerable and weak against all these creatures
Regardless of whether or not they would harm me
I don't like feeling helpless around large animals
I do love marine life though, so it gets complicated for me

Ah. I mean it's the same with me. Sometimes when I walk outside at night and look up I get scared for some reason. I panick whenever I look up at the sky and feel like I'm having an asthma attack. I never understood why but yea, I'm scared of the fucking night sky.

The problem with the TSA is that they make up their own regulations and answer to nobody, which leads to all kinds of problems and corruption.

Thats what every agency that reports directly to the president does.
