To be fair, most peoples' only exposure to fencing is at the olympics, where you've got two idiots with foils rushing into eachother, hoping they stab the other guy 0.2 seconds before they get stabbed, so they win. And then spend 5 minutes arguing over who got stabbed first. Like american football, but somehow even more boring to watch.

LMAO That's true though. But if you watch epee fencing, you can still see the fundamentals. It's just that the most famous blade to watch tends to be saber for some reason.

Saber isn't the same as foil or epee.

I....never said it was. I said I love it. I'm an Epeeist who does Saber occasionally but began with foil.

You can see the foundation of modern fencing when you watch videos of classical fencing. Which is why I hate when people say "Modern Fencing is just tag".

But you say black women are the dumbest demographic in the USA like Kelly Hyles does not exist

If you're looking for everyday examples, just actually go outside and you'll see plenty of young black women doing the same thing as young white women.

Again, the trash you see on tv, and this s being told to you as a black man, is nothing more to feed people like you.

Can they be loud ghetto yeah. Just like white Starbucks girls can be loud and ditzy. But I'm not saying white women are the most air headed demographic in the USA.

To be the stupidest demographic in the USA is proposterous a reflection on your character as a human.

that's true, even though where I come from we don't go in depth in african civilizations mostly because im in europe and just european history takes literally years to go through.. also it's more relevant but at least here it's kind of common knowledge that ethiopia is one of the oldest countries in the world and an empire that's actually still standing.

it's kind of a shame that most media only broadcasts the poor and shitty parts of those countries and the african continent in general indeed

but every Nigerian person i met told me their ancestors were kings and queens. all of them so far. there had to be Nigerian slaves and workers. they all couldn't be kings and queens.

Well, it is possible that a) they're not speaking literally - Africans before them were kings b) A lot of them do. Literally everyone alive in Europe now is descended from Charlemagne in some way and it's not entirely unreasonable.

one thing that i don't get at all is how black people in USA love to take credit for what egyptians did and love to portray themselves as egyptian while ignoring Ethiopia; perhaps one of africa's oldest, most powerful empires that actually actively fought off european and arab colonies well into the 19th century when italy conquered it for a brief while.
#168 - anon (06/28/2016) [-]
What else do they have to attribute to themselves? African-American culture has always been stymied by being surrounded and pressured by the prevailing euro-centric culture of America, a descendant of Britain and thus entirely founded on white ideology and familiarity.

Modern African-American culture is the result of years of being put-upon and having precious little positive to show for it. Many blame blacks themselves for their misfortune and don't realize that it's been attitudes like that that keep the blacks from realizing they CAN be successful without being a gangster or a rapper or sports star.

So what else do they have to look up to except the wonders of ancient Egypt, even if commonly-held beliefs about it (predominately handed down by misinformation held by fellow whites) are, essentially, wrong. They need to believe there was a period when they did great things, and thus are still capable of doing great things. Not tiny, obscure empires dotted in history here or there, but something as big and lasting as the Great British Empire that spread across the world (despite being conquering bastards, slashing and burning and shooting and raping their way across the planet and subverting almost all cultures they invaded).

but Ethiopia is literally an example of a great empire that's still standing, even, and which has been the trade capital, the technological capital and even preserving a script that's thousands of years old, as well as thousands of years of liteature, science, mathematics, hell it's even been a colonial empire.

all of this done by subsaharan africans; aka literally the ancestors of today's african american youth, and all of this being ignored by this weird, destructive lie that they actively teach the american youth just because some lazy, dumbass SJWs throw hissy fits over so called "whitewashing" egyptians were never even portrayed as white, they were more arab or middle eastern than anything.

Ethiopia is literally what these people are looking for, it's just so damn sad that it's a country that's consistently ignored

Simple. Education. See we know about this because we enjoy history. We spend time looking for that information. It's like why there are things that a doctor or a scientist would see as common sense but I would never understand..

But for people who do not care for history, they only grab onto the most well known aspect. Egypt. The pinnacle of civilization blah blah in Africa, every school teaches about Egypt. But they do not teach about Ghana or Ethiopia. ALl you see on TV and the Internet is the poor areas of those countries..

If all begins with education and the media. Everyone has a hand in this situation.

We wuz kings is more or less making fun of though some people take it to the extremes of afrocentrists who speak about how everyone had african ancestry. I've heard people say that charles the great was black and so on and so on.
Of course black people had kings, (kush empire, empire of aksum, shongai empire, kingdom of nubia, kingdom of abbyisinia and so on andf on... to name the few. Only morons would question that.

what about carthage? was hannibal black or was he a more middle eastern/persian looking dude
#78 - malilk (06/28/2016) [-]
Carthage was originally a Phoenician colony that became prominent went Dido, a Phonencian princess fled to there and founded her own kingdom.

Phonecians were originally from the Lebanon. Which at the time would have been filled with Greek/Levantine people. Not arabs.

Hannibal himself would have most likely been a mix of the original inhabitants of the land and phonecian. So a slightly darker version of a levatine. More or less olive skinned.

Problem with actually knowing is relying on primary sources from the time. Roman/greek accounts. Race wasnt mentioned when descibing these people so they would have most likely looked very similar to romans. Which were meds not White or black.

Its before all the great migrations of people across the middle east and north Africa so they would look like contemporary people from these areas.
#79 - malilk (06/28/2016) [-]

Eh I refrained from mentioning him because that's sort of the same as the Egyptian issue. The reason why Black royalty is downplayed is because we focus upon light skin black or middle eastern. Although that should count as black royalty, to many basement dwellers, it isn't.

You could say he was black but you could also say he was middle eastern. But he damn sure was not white.

But for this situation, when defending history, I had to name people who looked like me. That is black as night.

Every race had badassessses basically lol.
