Black but not beautiful.
Tall but not loved
Empty but not spacious.

Without 'cultural appropriation' the world would never have progressed so I agree with you disliking that dumb shit.
You did however say you write fanfiction so I'm still going to call you a pleb.
Either way, have a thumb. Pleb

We wage war against them, and kill them if they do not surrender.

If they are captured, though!--if they are captured, then we must act in a civilized way. POW-->trial-->life sentence (hopefully with forced labor).

Do you mean "their" in your last sentence? As in possessive, like Daesh's society?

If so, then no of course their society is not civilized. That is why I also appeal to the concept of human rights. Wise, moral people through the course of various international councils--the UN, presently--have decreed that certain rights apply to all human beings.

This is my opinion, of course, but I'm fairly certain that it is shared by many intellectuals whose wish is to one day have not an unstable world with a few developed societies here and there, but a stable, civilized world.

Respecting those basic human rights is the first step toward world peace (a shaky concept toward which I remain optimistic). It's important to remember that a human being is a human being, and it's not up to anyone to decide that someone else is not a "true" human being (see: No True Scotsman fallacy).

Otherwise, I could decide to kill you right now (provided I could find you) and act all surprised when I go to court since "you weren't an ACTUAL human being".

See but living in the USA means I have those Human Rights. Because our forefathers agreed that people in this country have rights. Being black, I wouldn't have had those rights let's say 100 years ago.

I'm not saying we should ignore human rights either. Because I'm not being edgy. I'm saying, that saying "We should treat them civilized with our regards of rights" is utterly dangerous.

I'm not saying we should go around killing people because of their beliefs I'm not saying we should become them. But I'm saying, they don't want to be civilized. Not saying Muslims not saying all the Middle East. I'm talking about those who are trying to impose a set of laws created thousands of years ago.

Yes I would love if we could suddenly make these people follow our civilized laws. But how much blood must be spilled? They're continuously DENYING us. So what do we do?

No, that's not how a good society works. You can make the point that because of corruption we'll never have rights, but the case in point is that the legal system is fixed and you do have rights, duties and privileges all combined as a human being and citizen of X country.

That's not the point I'm making. We have rights because we live in a good society. But is there society civilized?
