Which is my point, we did something very wrong. You can justify it by saying it was necessary, but the Japanese would say the exact same thing about their WWII actions.

If you want my room, and it's MY room, and you punch me in the face, and shove me to the ground and claim half my room, and we agree that the amount of land you have now is good for both of us, and the next day you shoot me in the groin and take the rest of it and throw me into the closet, then how does that make you a good person?

Well, I never said we did it cleanly, we just did what we wanted, because no one could stop us, or at least not the Indians, and no one was going to back them up.

You don't screw over someone you've negotiated a treaty with. We had a "overflow"? We let in so few Jews, we let in less than Australia. I don't mean the South Americans today, I mean 1900-1980's. Huey Long would have never been killed, if we hadn't killed him. Go on.

We let in a lot of Italians and my great grandma was Ukrainian, so let them in to. Alot of people wanted in, we just couldn't let them all in. Also, people wanted land, and if they wouldn't give us it, we were going to take it.

Sure-
1-Indians. We've fucked them over countless times. In treaty after treaty, we agreed to respect their land rights and leave them alone. In conflict after conflict, we broke those same treaties and forced them off the land, into reservations. I can provide specifics if needed, including one where we broke a white flag meeting with the Indian leader Geronimo because we couldn't beat him, so we broke a truce to capture him.
2-Jews. We refused to let more than a tiny percentage in pre-WWII and during.
3-The entire South and slavery.
4-Immigrants. We refused to let them in, to let them escape harsh rulers.
5-Huey Long would have been a dictator, had he not been murdered.
More?
User avatar #947 - FRANCHEK (03/15/2011) [-]
The Indians lost, meaning that they had to listen to us. We had an overflow of immigration during WWII. The current immigrants are mostly illegal, meaning that we don't want them here. Huey Long would've been assassinated later. More please.

As humans with something resembling free will, we have multiple reasons to be obligated to help each other.
1-Survive as a species.
2-Advance society.
3-As thinking, rational beings, we should be willing to use our greater intelligence to serve the greater good, not be stuck in our little worlds.
Yes, those 9 deaths are depressing. Yes, this world sucks. But we can do something about it, but only if we help each other out in the long run, not stay isolationist.
User avatar #909 - FRANCHEK (03/15/2011) [-]
I'm not isolating anyone, I just believe if a country such as America or Japan has problems, it should deal with them first, not another countries, such as our shitty president, who is not black, which is the only reason most people voted for him.

I know, the living subject dissections. That was the past. We have to get over our past. They thought they were the master race, same as Germany. They were extremely wrong, but every country has thought that at some point. The US thought it was the best, and still does, but it's peak patriotism came at a time when we were still pretty isolationist. If you compare the US warcrimes to the Japanese, we pull almost even. The whole Indian vs US stuff, specifically.
User avatar #897 - FRANCHEK (03/15/2011) [-]
Alright, give me something that will convince me to stop digging into the past of shitty countries because of something horrible my country has done, and I know America is not the greatest country on Earth, unless its military, since we've lost once.

Those soldiers knew the risks when they signed up. Yes, their deaths are regrettable. Yes, I hate how we ignore their deaths and focus on Charlie Sheen's drug addiction. And what past, you flaming moron? WWII? Most of those soldiers/leaders/propagandists/supporters are dead, and the US wasn't exactly the shining example of honor during that war either.
User avatar #832 - FRANCHEK (03/15/2011) [-]
Well, Japan has know they are prone to earthquakes and tsunamis. WWII yes is the past, which look up their warcrimes for, which are way worse than the our warcrimes, and we are pretty good in that category compared to the Japs. Look up Unit 731 wiki.
