It prevents screen-tearing. I usually turn it off, but in some games it's basically required, like GTA V.

I usually never notice. Some games are unplayable with V-Sync, like CSGO. ya boi needs 300fps u feel me fam frfr

V-Sync just makes the game stutter af for me for some reason, so i have it off for more smoothness, kind of ironic

That's kinda strange. All I know is I turned it off (I can get about 80fps at low settings) and suddenly it started tearing like crazy. Never again, man.

I never actually experienced tearing but thats because i never can run higher than 60

jk but in games that do run at 100+ fps i dont actually see any tearing, or i just dont notice it at all, it really did not see any tearing ever, maybe im just lucky, or blind?

Nah, some games just don't seem to have it. I can run Borderlands at 120fps or CS:GO at 200fps and never experienced any tearing in those games. In fact, GTA V is one of the only games I HAVE experienced screen tearing in.

I know it's where the bottom and top half of your screen becomes out of sync, because your monitor refreshes top-to-bottom, typically at a rate of 60Hz or 144Hz, but as to why some games experience this and some don't, I have no idea.

Wish that was the stuff they were teaching me me in college.

Technically it should happen in every game, though.

Frames are still frames.
