Video games mostly, because we have an admittedly retarded rating system.

Yeah... Our rating system for games is pretty good but stupid-ass parents don't even pay attention to it anyways.

they need to make money.

You deserved to be short changed if youre such an idiot to not sell your games through ebay or craiglist.

Cutting out the middleman will save you a lot of money.

They make plenty of money other ways. They barely ever even have sales at gamestop. I personally try to avoid shopping there all together and I never trade in my games there. I might preorder there if they have a better preorder bonus on a game that I'm already going to preordering, but other than that, I hate buying games there. But my friends love it and have the stupid power-up rewards stuff. -.-

Funny thing is, because I pay for my phone service, it is just like a paper with your signature on it. You can request a duplicate. And much like any medical records, it has my signature on it. I can deny access to anyone I like, Because if nothing else, it is intellectual property. (Doesn't mean they won't give it to the government anyway)

Besides, your voice is your own, is it not? It is something that you own. So why should a "private" phone call become a public necessity without a warrant? How does that make any sense?
User avatar #136 - EpicWin (06/14/2013) [-]
Trust me, I see your point.
While privacy should be respected, I think I would rather them be able to find the bad guys and stop them from blowing up everyone I love than to worry about them hearing me talk to people on the phone.
Society has got to the point where these big corporations have 18 page agreements that are way too long to read that say whatever they want like you don't really own a damn thing.
And people want to make a bomb and blow innocent people up. Society is sadly to the point where we need people to watch our backspin secretive ways to try and keep us safe. It definitely sucks to know the government can do a lot thing they shouldn't be able to, but if it keeps people safe I'm okay with it. Its not like the NSA and CIA are listening to me talk to my mom about college on the phone, or my girlfriend about her new lingerie. They are simply looking for keys words or connections relating to terrorist plots.
TLDR: I don't like it either and it probably is illegal based on the constitution, but I prefer it to being killed for no reason.

I pay for my phone service.

So anything that derives from my service I.E. phone records, are property of me. So therefore, I can(should) have the ability to deny a search.

Anything else you'd like me to prove wrong?
User avatar #128 - jorah (06/14/2013) [-]
Nothing about your agreement says you own your phone records, so stop being a smart ass because you don't know what you're talking about.

You don't even "own" your phone service, you rent it.
User avatar #127 - EpicWin (06/14/2013) [-]
Its much like the music industry these days. You don't really own the music, you own a "license" to the music.
You pay for the service, nothing is owned. You don't own the cell tower, you don't own the data. You cant sell your service or give it away.. You have a contract that says that your will pay x amount for x amount of services for x amount of days. If you don't pay you get no service. You own nothing but the phone.
