I chose my weapons mostly because of sound / animations..ive stuck with a baton in fallout 4 because it does the neat animation everytime. also, laser rifles in f4 "fwaaoom"

exactly..that was my issue as well..i usually join the brotherhood immediately, giving me access to those sweet laser guns.

enclave has plasma, botherhood had laser. laser did less damage by far

Well im not too sure what it is about bethesda games, but after 3-5 hours into all of them, especially F3, i just stroll around doing nothing at all but one-shot everything (except for super mutants and deathclaws obviously) ..im playing f4 on very hard right now but still, and yea i must take in count that im using x-01 Mk III armor, but im casually killing everything that crosses my path. although f4 has made me considerably scared shitless due to the amped deathclaw presence / AI..1 thing i despised about f3 was the green tint however..yea i get it, nuclear bombs and whatnot, but it still hurt my eyes a bit lol.. 10/10 storywise however.

the green tint does kinda bug my eyes too, I accept it as the color scheme though it gets quite dull to look at, though from my experience in F3 once you have a signifigant weapon you can mow down just about anything (ive not been killed once since getting a plasma rifle)
