um, yeah ok so, as youd imagine, gifs thumbnails are set by the image on the top layer. now, in order to compile such an image file youd need every picture for each frame. and of course, one of those images would be that top layer, and would be viewed as such in your folders. this of course causes issues, because the two files look exactly the same. especially if youre stupid and name them the same damn thing, so that they sit undiscernable next to each other, which again causes issues if one wanted to delete the png, and one might have possibly accidentally select the gif instead

tl;dr i went looking for it weeks ago and i cant find it D:
