I think 90% of the people on Elance go for the cheapest option, and the site's taken away the "High - Average - Low" pricing visibility for free accounts there.

The site I work with for that does that, but there's still the fact I need to get clients to do things. I'm not actively looking 80% of the time because coursework, though.

You dont really need much. You prolly get payed less than an experienced full time proffesional, so as long as a client can see that youve done good work, even if its just a few projects, they are far more likely to go with it.

Decent. I don't get many clients because everyone would rather hire someone who is twice my age with half my talent, but c'est la vie.

You could get some website up with past work and maybe comments from clients if possible. Your experienced competition wont be as much of an issue if your potential customers can see that youve already done good work in the past.

It is pretty good. I can choose my own hours and how much I get paid depending on what it is I'll be reading. I generally charge a little more for people from countries that don't have a reputation for good English because that's just extra work for me.

Pretty much that sort of thing. Generally I'm just another set of eyes going over a book or piece of text to make sure it makes sense. I do all sorts depending on what's needed for each text.

I basically get paid to read books and tell people they are wrong. It's a dream job.

It is. Interest in anything does seem to increase capability. Perhaps because working on mastering it is less of a chore because there's interest involved.

You should get a proffesion that involves languages, like a stewardess and everytme you get heartbroken you can just fly the fuck outta there.
