I just started this program on Saturday and today was my Pure Cardio day... It is MORE than FUCKING MENTAL. If Shaun T has to collapse at the end of the workout and he doesn't even do half of it, IT AIN'T WORTH IT. Neither is the 2 inches of sweat puddle on the ground in my basement, but meh.

hi, i am actually planning on starting Insanity next Monday. I was wondering when during the day you do the program. I'm planning on doing it as soon as i wake up in the morning.

Do it whenever is appropriate in your daily schedule (if you have one). You may get absolutely exhausted, especially with the intensity of these workouts, so possibly after work. I usually do it after meal 4, that way, I have some energy in me, not so much so that my body is focused on digestion.

For the whole thing, it's about $130 US. I have my own. It's really beneficial though.

The only things you'll need include a HUGE bottle of water, a sports drink, a towel (you will be sweating like you've never sweated before) and a decent pair of trainers (lots of plyometrics involved, so invest well in some well-padded and really comfortable ones).

You'll end up taking off your shirt halfway through from sweating. Don't wear socks by the way!

Never compromise form - if you find yourself unable to complete an exercise in the set, pause and take a rest. Drink your water, but keep moving around (just walk around), otherwise you may risk injury or your body might 'turn off'.

Shaun T will guide you on when, and how to breathe properly - breathing is key!

Just a warning - "Pure cardio" is FUCKING MENTAL. They all are, but this deserves a special mention. 20 minutes of pure hell.

The warm ups are also hell!

Meal-wise, substitute normal rice for brown-rice. Their nutrition plan is GREAT, and has a hell of a lot of meals you can make! Stick to it as closely as possible.

Drink your protein shake within an hour after working out. You may feel sick and queezy for about 30 minutes after workouts, which is normal. Once you feel better, get that protein shake down you! Sleep is key too - make sure you get at least 7 hours.
