If every champion were more or less evenly strong then at the highest level the meta champions would be irrelevant, which they aren't. If it only depended on how you played them at the highest level everyone would play that champion to the highest potential that anyone could so to say that for anyone under diamond 1 50 + pts is redundant. Basically every champion is viable... if you are better than your opponents but once you get to the elo you are meant to be in if you got to that skill level with meta champions you'd be at a higher elo than otherwise.

That's like saying everyone is weak, it's just up to which champion you pick.
There's a reason why there is a meta. It's because there are champions that are stronger. Sure, you can have a great game as karma. Good for you, she's not really strong though as most cases would show that you'll get your ass handed to you.
The pattern is evident in the charts and statistics, you never see a karma banned nor even picked. It's rare. Here:

There are a few challenger players who play literally nothing but one champion in every role; Teemo, Veigar and Poppy are the ones I remember off the top of my head. Once you hit a point where you're good enough at the game, you can beat people regardless of who you're playing because of how well you know the game. That's not to say that certain champions aren't stronger or weaker, for sure; nobody's going to argue the merits of Sion vs Lee Sin, for example. But outside of competitive play or really high-level ranked games, there's no reason to shit on people for playing champions that aren't popular. Heck, in the LCS recently I've seen Poppy top lane and Hecarim mid, and those sure as heck aren't that viable.

The charts will show that even if it's not challenger, it's far from any of the popular champions, meaning it's not really that strong. Why would you pick a weak champion when there are better choices? To have fun. However, we're not discussing that, we're discussing whether the champions are strong or not.

I just typed out a long-ass reply about counterpicking and metagame shifts, then accidentally hit f5 so I'm not doing that again. Long story short, you're right, some champs are always going to be stronger than other champs, but you shouldn't underestimate an apparently weak champ's ability to be an amazing counter to some popular champions. Best example I can think of is Malzahar, who absolutely shits on Yasuo, but nobody plays Malzahar because aside from his strong laning and assassination he doesn't bring anything to a team that someone else does better. His kit just happens to be a fantastic counter to Yasuo, who the charts will tell you is the most banned champion in the game right now.
