I work at a pub that has probably one of the most varied craft beer lineups that I've ever seen, probably the most varied in the state maybe. We don't serve ANY domestic shit like Budweiser or Coors. And then there's still people that come in, look at our 40+ beer list, and ask for that swill. Instead of listening to our recommendations of beers that taste similar, but better, or completely different, they get upset and leave. And they're either an old-timer like you said, or a younger guy that's a total "bro-douche". I really don't understand how people can claim to "like" beer but then refuse to try anything new.

Personally, I feel that acknowledging the differences, present or historical, between whites and blacks serves to drive a wedge in between them. Of course I agree that those brought as slaves suffered a great deal, and of course I agree that they are now in an incredible position considering the suppression they suffered, but it's dragging out racism, not as a matter of hatred or vindication, but as a matter of perspective and division. Even here, we are both differentiating between whites and blacks, when the aim should be to stop it from being a trait worthy of distinction.

If you ask me, the month of historical focus should be aimed at things we've done together. Things where blacks, whites, Europeans, Asians - people of all creeds and cultures, the most diverse groups possible - have worked together.

TL;DR, I totally agree with you, but I'd do it differently purely because I don't think it's worth adding that little extra distance in the divide between races.

I get what you mean mate, and though like 70% + of this site are from the us (I'm not for the recors. I just feel like the wordsnyou used and the way youbused them makenyou comment come across adsan insult even though I get that isn't what you meant. It's just that phrases like "gay childrens song" wouldn't tend to be conveyed well over the internet.

You just so happened to get the shit end of the stick.

The Battle of the Alamo took place during the Texan Revolution, when Texas wanted to break away from Mexican control and join the United States.
The Alamo was a Christian mission where the Texan soldiers took refuge and were besieged by the Mexicans, who eventually attacked and massacred them. Thereafter, Texan soldiers used the rallying cry "Remember the Alamo!" to steel their resolve against the Mexicans by remembering the sacrifice made there.
The battle has become surrounded by myth, in no small part to the fact that it featured legendary figures such as Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie, both of whom died there.
