and i remember that the french had a mg that was magazine fed
magazine i think had a problem with bending and the slit to show the amount of ammo for the loader was prone to let dirt in and cause problem
but i can't remember what the name of it was

everything has it's pros and cons
i honestly have no idea how well the bending back into working order worked
but wat was also not so b ad about it, the fact that it is aircooled
so there was no water tank that the enemy could hit and render the mg "useless"

doesn't change anything about the strips though

Strips were a dumb idea. They can bend, however they had advantages over cloth belts. If your belt got wet you were fucked. At the very least you could probably bend the metal strip back into working order.

it cant be helped
every time i hear a voice of a child from the states, on tv, in real life, I also find less than pleasing, but children with an English voice seem far less annoying

the problem is its less "boy this voice makes me hate those of which he is mocking" and more "boy i really hate this guys voice"

I can see that. He has the problem most English people have in that his tone of voice will take on a sarcastic quality whenever you talk about shit like this.
