YES IT DOES... it doesn't burn at a temperature high enough to melt it but it was more than high enough to warp it and degrade it.

So are you saying, for example, that you think the right thing to do would be to allow a gay man to sue a church for not letting him become a pastor in their church?

Smoking a cigarette is not that dangerous at a gas station. The only real danger is actually lighting one near the fumes because the flame could ignite them. And he could have had the windows rolled up when he lit it.. But the lit cigarette itself isn't that risky.

It's been proven by science that a lit cigarette does not produce enough heat to light the fumes from gasoline. They, instead, put the cigarette out, as it has no oxygen to continue burning. Lighting a cigarette is different, as you have a much hotter and larger flame, instead of burning embers.

you need a lighter to light a cigerette.
lighters tend to have a big and hot enough flame to light cigerettes

That was the whole "lighting a cigarette is a different story" part. I figured you would know that lighting a cigarette requires a large flame through the use of a match or butane lighter. Lighting a cigarette is dangerous, but simply having one inside a vehicle where there are negligable gasoline fumes is highly unlikely to cause a massive fireball.
#88 - can't they just use flight simulators?  [+] (1 reply) 09/08/2012 on So much Yes +2

they do, but the fact of the matter is that a simulator and actually being in a plane are two different things. like it or not, no simulator can give the full experience. the only way to do that is to actually fly the plane.
