Is marriage the only way to prove your love? Honestly i dont see why they are so bothered about it. It's not the government they are fighting against. It's the church. Obviously the church and gay people dont get on to well (They are accepted, however), and the church have little reason to change their policies - They aren't compelled to as the government would be.

you dont have the same legal rights if you arnt married. like in america your wife can use your health insurance if she gets ill, she automatically gets your money if you die unless your will says otherwise. stuff like that. but more importantly it suggest that gay couples dont have the same rights as hetrosexual couples and there is no reason that should be the case.
