The media has made friendship a game of social demographics Pokemon. You need atleast one friend of each demographic or clearly you hate them all.

As a gay guy I can say that some people honestly do think that they need a GBF. It's mainly just women though. I got it a lot in college when a girl would find out I was gay and start being all like "omg we should go shopping and I can give a makeover!"
Even some girls I was friends with before coming out who knew I wasn't into that stuff started asking me to do it and to just "be myself" and it always consisted of looking at fashion magazines and dressing me up in flashy, loud coloured clothing that I just didn't like.
When I read this back it makes it sound like I still took part but was hating it the whole time, but no I wouldn't be that much of a pussy. I said no every time but it didn't stop them from asking.

That actually sounds like the most annoying shit. I would start telling people to fuck off after a while. Good on you for not lashing out m8.

Alright, fair point, I suppose that does happen.
But, the story is still warped, why would you admit that to a person you literally just met? and I mean why is it even "awkward social penguin" that he was mistaken for a gay guy? The stereotype is they're better dressers and love partying and having fun, so it's not exactly an insult. It's obviously made up is my point.
Clearly OP is just trying to cash in on the 13-19 y.o. immature guys on the internet scared of being called gay, because that somehow emasculates them. (Which of course is 90% of FJ, so of course it gets frontpage).
