Just did some research,and you are correct about it not melting. Apparently,modern sewing needles are made of Carbon Steel (burning point= 2600F) And a haystack burns at around 180F

I don't really know what typical needles are made of,but I thought that if it was in the middle of a haystack,it would melt the needle because of the needle's small size.
