probably. then again, these terms are supposedly created by people who are not "priviledged" or whatever. ...stupid morons...
#98 - Blasphemer (09/08/2014) [-]
Riiiight, by "not privileged" do they possibly mean: "My mom didn't buy me new iPhone and now I'm stuck with my old one, what a stupid bitch".

If you have internet to bitch around, you are not that poor or underprivileged. Otherwise you could find a better use for those 50$ (is it 50 there?) per month.

You are right. In fact, the reason RTW2 turned out the way it did is (partly) due to the fact they were trying to cater to reviewers to get higher scores rather than listening to their audience. There is a nice youtube video summarizing it.

As a side note, did they end up fixing the bugs? I had a feeling they would screw it up so I waited before buying the game. I loved Rome 1 and wanted to see if they would clean up their act in future patches.
#69 - Blasphemer (09/06/2014) [-]
They claim they have fixed all the major bugs with the incoming update, and that they have greatly improved AI and diplomacy... That is yet to be seen.

But so far, a lot of bugs were fixed. AI is still the greatest problem.

I want you to imagen your favourite developers.

Now I want you to remember why you love their games and want them to continue making games in their own epic way.

Now. Think about those developers having to obey these corrupt journalists and make games the way that THEY and not the developers want to make it.

Next. Developers get sick, and will be doxx'd shamed until they're shut down or lose their jobs. So you dont care about that. You dont care about studios and creator of all the lovely games that we can play being controlled or shut down.

If thats how you view it. Then... Well thats that I guess.

It affects sales. Not just a little bit, but quite a lot. In fact, if you were to take into account every review of a game written by anybody at all and add all the influence up, you're probably looking at 60 - 70% of potential buyers having their decisions enforced or discouraged to some varying degree. The different it makes can be measured in millions of dollars, which should rightfully go to good companies with good ethics who make good games, and not morally bankrupt cowards who're pumping out shit.

That money goes towards paying employees' wages and all the different aspects of developing more games, so if the flow of cash is shifted towards somebody whose games suck, even a little... Well there's nothing we'll be able to do about having a market saturated with more shit and less genuinely good games.
User avatar #18 - xbfmvxreaperx (09/06/2014) [-]
Reading it isn't the issue. If this shit continues it will affect the production of games, the public view of gamers, and will elevate these feminazis to higher positions in the industry. All in all, this shit just needs to end.

Sarcasm used against people who take things literally is unnecessarily harmful. It is a purposeful disclusion of oneself from the presence of those who don't understand an attempt at humor.
I'm chastising you because I actually -was- watching, but you humans have free will and whatever, and I won't censor or remove this freedom under any circumstance.
If you didn't catch that, I implied that I was God. Now I'm stating it explicitly.
So uh. You know. Shut up. Jerk.

User avatar #52 - Ashtaroth (09/04/2014) [-]
Actually I'd say it was a fairly good comparison. Cigarettes are bad for you. They're obnoxious to everyone around them. Their backers think cigs are the best thing since sliced bread. And the people who produce them think of nothing but profit, regardless of how many people their product harms/kills.
User avatar #55 - lathyrusvii (09/04/2014) [-]
I keep thumbing you up because I enjoy arguing when it's clear that I've done nothing but state my opinion, and you are wrong.
I didn't force you to reply to it. I am not ' deficient ' because I do not enjoy the same things that you do.
I think I might be done pursuing this argument though, cause I have other ways to spend my time, and I'm kind of spending more time on FJ than I intended today.

My belief is based on the erroneous idea of euclidean geometry wherein since I am with myself at all times, and ' God ' is supposed to be with me at all times, therefore deduction may conclude that I am God.
Uh. Well it would, but for the fact that despite the mathematical, abstract approach presented here is... well.
Abstract. And intangible. And since God is left undefined, but is supposed to be everywhere and nowhere at once...
blah blah blah
I am now mocking myself.

Now, disregard all of that, and observe the other point I made.
Because that part was the important one. All this text here is fluff bullshit.
I could, and am, literally taking the other half of the story ( the part wherein I am God ) and purposely using many words to cause it to look like there is reasoning here when there simply is none. I'm not going to actually declare myself God and sincerely believe it. Because that would be... like... painting a bullseye directly on my back.

So maybe I'm not God. But people really shouldn't use sarcasm so wantonly.

It's goddamned cutting and disgusting.

Ahh, but what do I know?
