Woah woah woah, calm down there, who said anything about retards being their own goddamn race? I think what he was trying to say is that back before people started giving a shit about retards, they would have just fucking died, or maybe he/she meant like MORE than 1000 years ago, you know, like when humans first started doing shit. I don't have a lack of empathy, I actually feel sorry for the fuckers, but that isn't to say that they get off scott-free just because they're retarded.
Which brings me to my second point, yes I'm working class individual, I was brought up in a rough neighborhood, I currently live in a rough neighborhood and chances are I'll die in one, and it's kinda annoying when people assume another person's class just on their opinion when they know nothing about them. What I mean by ''the world is too tolerant'' that is when I was in secondary school, any instance involving someone with even a slight mental issue was blamed on someone else. For example my school was all ''hurr durr acceptance'' and built a little school next door for the mentally challenged, however their version of that was shit like ADHD (which I think is more of a case of shitty parenting), and shit was constantly getting stolen from my school by their students such as bikes, school equipment, hell even some of these ADHD kids formed gangs and jumped kids from my school. The school's response? ''Just stay away from them''. Like, how? We share school grounds, the parents used the same parking lots, hell they came to our grounds and fucked shit up. THAT is what I mean by that.
Anything else you'd care for me to elaborate?

How is that part of the sentence wrong?
Also as a working class individual I can confirm that the world IS too tolerant.
#123 - Blasphemer (01/03/2014) [-]
Retarded people are not a race, they are not jews or asians, perfectly healthy and normal couple can have a retarded kid, due to some circumstances, use google for full details. So, even if we round them up and shoot them down to the very last one of them, there would still be more retards born, how the fuck would've natural selection help 1000 years ago? 1000 years ago, parents would've drowned their own retarded children for not being able to work. WE HELPED the natural selection 1000 years ago, and now we somehow figured out: "errr, ya know, killin lil kids just cuz they are sick is not really ok, right?" I understand your lack of empathy for retarded kids but that first sentence is simply... stupid...

"Also as a working class individual I can confirm that the world IS too tolerant." Do elaborate, please.

User avatar #107 - heartlessrobot (01/03/2014) [-]
No, not really. Or at all. Human beings aren't naturally strong, fast, or well equipped enough to just go batshit and tear prey to pieces. Our teeth aren't razor sharp, we have no claws nor venom. The only reason we've survived so long is intellect and fight or flight. More often than not we chose flight, as we aren't designed to fight.

Then you can't use military service to defeat equality claims by feminists.
Also military service doesn't really mean shooting at people. It teaches you discipline, how to be commanded and how to give commands and earns you good friends. I hope you really DID have better things, becasue not only military provides high class educaton for example if you are already good with electronics etc., also many future leaders have had strong military background.
You will never learn to have a strong will in business by sitting in a quiet office or a pub with friends.

Can you tell me in what instance a man would be drafted, and for what reason?
User avatar #59 - thesoulless (12/29/2013) [-]
It's probably not in use in the US today, but the draft was commonplace in the 20th century. If another war breaks out, it could be reinstated.
User avatar #64 - desiduratum (12/29/2013) [-]
No, the U.S. would only use the draft if a very bad war broke out, but the men are forced to sign draft cards just in case.

In the case of a very bad war, it is to my knowledge that men in the U.S. are conscripted in service to fight on a battlefield after volunteer service members are in short supply. This means that they are being sent to fight or die. Men are generally more physically capable than women, this is why women are not drafted (because of battlefield duties). So when you are drafted, you are expected to shoot at people, correct? Then you may get to see those "good friends" shoot people, and then be shot, and die.

I am open minded though. What are your extended thoughts?
User avatar #68 - thesoulless (12/29/2013) [-]
I probably should have specified that it was the first half of the 20th century that the draft was going on. I'm not trying to argue with you, I was just attempting to answer the question.
User avatar #70 - desiduratum (12/29/2013) [-]
What makes the first half of the century important? And no arguments here. I'd consider it more of a debate, or discussion, to see if there is another way of thinking, or if there is a solution. An argument is what people do in order to make others see things their own way. That's why I asked what thoughts you may have. I needed to see if I could have been mistaken. And if I'm wrong, there is now a paved path to learning more and finding a better answer or solution.
User avatar #83 - thesoulless (12/29/2013) [-]
It was used in the both world wars, as well as the Korean (1950-1953) and Vietnam wars, although the Vietnam war occurred in the latter half of the century. The draft was instated in WW1 because less people volunteered for service than were expected, and then in WW2, a majority of Americans supported the reinstatement of the draft.
User avatar #96 - desiduratum (12/29/2013) [-]
I can't see many American mothers and fathers supporting a draft. It seems more likely to me that the U.S. government was able to rally support for the war after Pearl Harbor. Also, just because the leader of Germany was communist, means that Americans were already against him (at the time).
#53 - Blasphemer (12/29/2013) [-]
"Then you can't use military service to defeat equality claims by feminists."

I wasn't even attempting to. I merely felt the need to speak.

And I do understand that military service does not require you to kill people in order to join. It was simply the main purpose: "Kill people in... errr, name of the... well, god, king, country, politics, money, land, whatever, just kill it coz I said so!".

The discipline part? Oh no worries, I am fully aware that large majority of humanity really need to have some basic attitude adjustment. Obey before you command is indeed a valuable lesson that sometimes simply has to be beaten into some people.

Except marketing strategies are essential if you want ever to be anything but a overworked drone, crunching code for someone like EA, with unpaid overtime killing your social life.
You don't have to be an expert, but you do have to understand the market, and have as wide possible knowledge of the issues beside code crunching, so you can get into more important projects, be able to sell them to customers so you can get to team head position and get ahead.
Also, once you are out of school, as a programmer, you either stop procrastination or you have a fast track of jobs you were let go, followed by a long term unemployment.
#28 - Blasphemer (12/26/2013) [-]
Now listen here you lil shit. I could've written knitting and you would still want to find the counter argument. The subject as whole is absurd and useless, I got an A simply by being on it every time. Does it ever feels like some subjects exist merely to fill your to do list on college?

As for procrastination, I've read more material about programming languages then all the bullshit I was "required" to read for passing grade in college, I merely did enough to pass those bullshit subjects, so excuse me for not taking any interest in "Ecology" or "Stress psychology" those were fucking neat. Not to mention that the really important subjects were run by uninterested professors who wanted to get the fuck out of the classroom as soon as possible:
"Programming in C? Yes, errr, lemme quick show you how to do , uhm... You know what, here's some random thing I can do, now you try doing it. No no, don't ask how, find a way! See you in 2 hours, I gotta do stuff and shit."
