Hey, this game had quality art, amazing voicework, a compelling story, and that you can't argue with, fun gameplay, and quite a lofty amount of playtime to play it in. The ending doesn't ruin the rest of the game, no matter how you look at it.

However, if you wanted something that got every aspect of the plot right and spelled it out to you, you could always just read a book. It doesn't cost a terrible amount of money and most are easy to pirate.

Yes, sure, you could assume that, but the assumption would have no grounds to stand on. If you want to pull your hair out over this, you could probably review all the available text in the game and try to fill the plot holes you've devised, or you could use the MST3K mantra, and repeat to yourself, "It's just a game, I should really just relax."

Heres the thing though by not getting baptized in any universe the Lutece never exists well they do they just don't go up to Columbia and have all the scientific stuff they need to do multidimensional travel therefore only 1 Lutece exists (Twins are actually same person) and they never come to DeWitt to take the baby so your graph would be incorrect. And where was it ever mentioned that DeWitt drops Elizabeth?

She grows up either way, but she won't have access to the technology to travel between dimensions and so she would be able to go to Booker. Though she won't have a reason to since Comstock doesn't exist and that is why Booker sells Anna to wipe away the debt to loaners.
User avatar #154 - Odobisean (04/06/2013) [-]
Gah english is not my first language sorry. Without Comstock Ms Lutece won't be able to in between dimensions. And without Comstock existing she would have no reason to go to Booker. Since the whole reason she went to Booker was to get Anna for Comstock promising to pay off his debts to the loaners.

By the time of the events of the game it's already happened 122 times. But this time, you actually manage to uproot the source of the cat, thus isolating the optimal timeline and creating a constant that cannot be altered. Your perceivable timeline switches to that, and you're no longer subject to the timeline(s) in which Columbia exists. Also, I think your graph needs a bit of work.

What the hell, though, neither of us are properly qualified quantum physicists, so I think we can both assume a little thought was put into the ending, eh?

I just read yesterday that EarthBound was a huge influence for Trey Parker's South Park RPG, and one of his favorite games of all time. It made me super happy.
