The fuck else did Mojang make?

They've made a couple of small games, notch style, and are preparing to come out with a pretty big one shortly

a game I'd never want for a system I'd never buy... how terrifying (minecraft is so rediculously customizable chances are people would keep making mods for minecraft 1)

Actually Java is extremely limited. As much as I hate the idea of a faceless company taking over yet another starting business, I feel like minecraft could use a change.

You're not everybody, a lot of people would buy it, they don't care about what you'd buy
User avatar #243 - tornadomad (3 hours ago) [-]
That goes both ways. You have no way of knowing what people would and would not buy.
User avatar #21 - BigDoktor (21 hours ago) [-]
They're working on other projects such as Cobalt and Scrolls. As you said everyone has Minecraft so the next thing Mojang will make will have a lot of significant attention thus making it an easy buy for Microsoft.

Without being spoilery, the key conflict is unavoidable. There are a lot of options given that allow you to try and avoid it, but they're irrelevant. To a large extent, the endings, much like the endings of ME3, are decided at the very end of the series, as if to say, well, you couldn't change jack, but here's a consolation prize.

Regardless, some of the events are set in stone, and the way they go down was... unsatisfying for me.

For me personally, I thought the game did a very good job of twisting my ambitions into a sort of shakespearian tragedy. I tried so hard to keep the group together only for everything to happen and for me to do the very thing I thought never do, and become the person I thought I'd never be (that certain people, despite my assertions to the contrary, told me I'd be). But that was just me and my journey through it all.

I understand that you feel that you were led into an unavoidable end there, but isn't that the point? That things rarely go as you planned and how, in the grand scheme of things, you've very little control of your own life? I think if you did have the godlike ability to have things exactly as you wanted it would be pretty unrealistic, especially given the setting.

I just found it a little too preachy for my tastes.

You should read Urasawa's other manga. I've read Pluto (a gritty retelling of an Astro Boy story arc) and 20th Century Boys (a decades-spanning epic), the latter of which has been made into a trilogy of big budget movies in Japan. There are hardly ANY big budget movies in Japan.
