The lighter round was developed to allow soldiers to carry more ammunition. A soldier with 10kg 5.56 can carry around twice the amount of a soldier using 7.62x39. The Commies saw this, which is why they switched over to 5.45x39.

The military would not develop a smaller caliber bullet to wound someone to lure out their allies they would simply just shoot them in a spot that would wound insted of kill..

Like seriously do you think before you speak? I understand you are trying to make a point but just admit you dont know shit about firearms... and if you dont want to admit that at least dont pretend to know shit you actually dont..

no that was not the idea you fucking idiot the reason our military using a 5.56 nato round insted of a 7.62x39 round from an AK is because like i said before it is designed to tumble inside of the body causing more damage internally insted of passing right through..

NO BULLET EVER WAS DESIGNED TO WOUND FOR ANY REASON..

Show me a credible source that says differently please..

And your logic saying a smaller round is less likely to hit a vital organ isnt logic at all because the size difference between a 9x19mm round compared to a .45 isnt enough to say its less likely to hit a vital organ because If i shoot you in the chest with a 9mm round it isnt any less likely to hit a vital organ you would need a fucking cannon ball to increase the likely hood of hitting a vital organ using your logic

You are incredibly ignorant and stupid when it comes to firearms the 9x19mm round was not developed to wound.. no bullet in the world was ever developed to "wound" and smaller rounds are more likely to hit a vital organ because when they enter the body they are more likely to tumble inside the body and cant exit because it doesnt have the velocity so in that sense its much more likely to hit a vital organ idiot..

Smaller rounds developed for military use were designed to have less of a chance to kill the enemy as to wound them, causing one of their allies to have to take care of them, effectively taking two enemies out of the fighting at once, at least that was the idea

I gathered that, but it says it was meant to be a prank. What about breaking into a garage is a prank?
#46 - pedocommando (05/23/2014) [-]
I'm actually from Montana and know the real story. Missoula is only 250ish miles away from me and what actually happened was no "prank". It was all sorts of fucked up.
The dude that owned the house had been having break ins over the course of a week or so. One day he finally got sick of it and him and his wife decided to set up baby monitors in their garage one night and left the door completely open with his wife's purse sitting in the open. Later that night, they herd shit going on in the garage and the owner rushed out of the house, screamed into the garage and fired his shotgun four times (blindly) into the garage. Two shots hit the guys chest and one hit his leg I believe. It was found, that the guy had walked in to steal some beer from the dudes fridge or something along those lines. Normally, this would have been perfectly okay being that their was an intruder in the owner's home and the castle doctrine would have protected him. BUT, his wife had been bragging to her friends saying that they were going to be setting up a "trap" for the supposed burglar to "shoot his ass". In which case this turned from "home defence" to deliberate homicide. The owner didn't have to shoot the guy at all, he could have just made him walk out, call 911, and wait till the cops arrived. But he did not do that an chose to open fire on a guy that was unarmed and in no hostile position. Although, he wasn't aware of that, he still had the upper hand on the guy. And it wasn't even breaking and entering either, just entering. Basically, the owner is a giant dumb ass. It's pretty common here in Montana.
Regardless, the kid shouldn't have been walking into other peoples homes/property, and the owner definiately should not have been so quick to pull the trigger.
