Honestly, vegetarianism is the way forward for the human race. It is cruel and inhumane to keep animals in cramped cages for their whole lives and then just kill them for food- does that sound civilised to you?
Not only that but meat is basically poison- eating it increases your chances of cancer by 25%, and it contains proteins and chemicals that are bad for your health.
Pets should not be fed meat either. There are hundreds of good plant-based alternatives for them and humans. It sickens me when I see a dog or cat being fed meat- YOU ARE POISONING YOUR PET!

That fact that your family won't accept your choice is disgusting, and just shows most people's unfortunate view of vegans- the true path forward.

i agree that factory farming can be a cruel thing and hurt the animals, and some thing needs to be done about that, but not eating meat all together isn't going to do a damn thing and dogs cats and most other mammals including humans. apes and monkeys are closest relives in the genetic tree are all omnivores that eat both plants and meats. if its bad for us and such a horrible thing to kill animals to get the right nutrition and vitamins that we get from meat then why are there carnivores at all because animals that need to eat meat, eat meat its how nature intended it and humans are no exception.

Alright so you started off sounding pretty legit but then you started talking about how feeding pets such as cats and dogs meat is poison.

It's been proven that they literally can not survive without meat in the long run. People have tried making it work and it just made their pets suffer.

I don't care if you're trolling or whatever, which is seriously likely, but saying that **** is going to get more people thinking that it's alright to keep pets on a strictly vegetarian diet, and that will only cause more animal suffering. Trolling is just fine and dandy when it just makes people buttmad, but if it can lead to actual harm, it needs to stop.

This is Gary Francione. He's fed his dogs a vegan diet for some odd 20+ years
perfectly healthy. Has other dogs he feeds vegan diets
www.care2.com/greenliving/great-new-resources-for-vegan-dogs-and-cats.html
What HAS been proven, is that in, very specific, minority cases there are some male cats that can't survive off a vegan diet.
Female cats and dogs, properly planned, can in fact live off a vegan diet, with the right food and yes, supplementation.
www.cnn.com/2011/LIVING/03/10/vegan.dog.diet/index.html?hpt=C2
Yes, there has been news stories about caregivers 'poisoning' their pets with a vegan diet -- more often than not, it is not a vegan diet, but a stupid one, like the case where a woman fed her kittens rice, milk, and potatoes. You give that to a person they probably couldn't sustain themselves.

All the same, I agree with you that to say that 'poisoning' your pet by giving it meat is an extreme way to put it.

To be fair, vegetarian is very acceptable in Asia. Probably because the vegan in US are often portrait as butthurt, well it is probably true, flaming people of murderer. Just like the feminist and Westrobaptist here. People who flame others base on what their opinion usually don't get respected. In Asia, Vegan, Feminist and Christian usually won't force other people to believe their idea, they mostly suggest. Therefore, they are respected like ordinary people.

It depends on what kind of fish you're eating. If it's a fish at the top of the food chain like albacore tuna, shark, grouper or mackerel then yeah, it's got a lot of bio-accumulation going on. But other fish like salmon or mahi mahi are low on the food chain and low in metals and fine to eat as long as you only eat it once or twice a week.

There is no "meat industry" in third world countries.

Meat causes disease in humans.
75 thousand Americans a month die from heart disease.

A true omnivore can eat exclusively raw flesh and be healthy.

humans are not omnivores.

Actually, I've never seen that. Two of my cousins and best friend are vegan, and pretty much every time we go out to eat, it's the meat eaters that make a huge deal. Making fun of them, endless disrespectful questions, and trying to force them to eat meat, etc. Honestly? I'm literally the only carnivore who hasn't made a big deal about it. And judging by all the jokes on the internet, I don't believe anymore that it's vegans/vegetarians that make a big deal about it. Besides PETA and Onision, (which no one takes seriously) I've never seen a vegan complain.

You come to my barbecue and ask for a faggy "Vegan option" you're getting punched in the ******* mouth. I wouldn't go to your vegan brunch and ask "Hey where the bacon at?" because that would make me a ********. Coming to my place and saying "Oh, I don't eat meat, can you cook something special for me?" It's flat out disrespectful. It's a ******* barbecue, not a ******* hippie music festival. You know the kind of food that's going to be served. If you don't like it, bring your own ****. I'd be fine with tossing your veggie burger on the grill (as long as it doesn't touch the real meat) but don't put the supply part on your host because you were a ******** and failed to prepare. If you were on a desert island and you killed a small animal for food then perhaps we could discuss the moral relativism.

If you go to a supermarket and willingly buy a product that causes animal cruelty, instead of one that does not.

Then it is absolutely unethical.

Underate? The point of the vegan diet is to ******* undereat. If high-protein low-carb is what my doctors, gym instructors and youtube fitness video makers say I need to have proper nutrition, then that's what I'll eat.
I seriously cannot imagine anyone with a normal mind eating 10 bowls of broccolli instead of nice chicken breasts.
You obviously have no idea how this works and are going about make-believe placebo diets. The only part where I agree with you is eating nasty fat parts of the animals like fried bacon and chicken skin is bad.
Mate, you're a silly one, I'll give you that.

You know fat burns in the flame of carbs right? You dont need to starve if you are eating the right calories...

If your doctors promote low carb that would just reflect that they have no understanding of nutrition.

Interesting article that says to lose fat, you need to eat less calories than you need to sustain the weight. But you strictly need a high-protein diet in order to not lose muscle along the way, said the HodgeTwins. Unless you call these things off as meat-muncher propaganda.
