Educational channels on television, books, the internet and video games.

Frankly, the educational system is in the toilet, and has largely been reduced to mnemonics and standardized testing.

I think reading is the best way to learn, but most kids aren't interested, from what I've seen most just memorize.Hell I remember a study that found that most college kids don't really learn anything in a 2 year span.

Obviously something is wrong.

This is just a theory, but I think college is a form of seperating people from others for careers. You know how they say people get higher paying jobs from going to college? Well they can get those jobs, not because of what they learned, but because they went to college. Im sure it didn't always use to be like this either, when people sought out knowledge and people sought out teaching it.

I guess it really depends on the school that you're going to, because I always went to "A" rated public schools and I felt very engaged in the learning process. At every school I went to, they always focused on the students having a firm grasp on the material more than any standardized test. But, maybe that isn't the norm.

Yeah, you can neglect studying constantly and just pull an all-nighter and pass the exams, then forget about what you studied/presented at the exam and still pass.

At least a lot of people can succeed in that.

My third grade teacher tried to get me to teach one of the morons in class. Not 3 years earlier I had to be tutored in reading and speech, moral of the story a good teacher makes everything.
