Rather than that, if you were to wear clothes that cover all of your body and has this effect.
What happens when you walk into a lake?
Do you simply not get wet?
Does the effect fail you, like its difficult to liquidize iron but if you got a hot enough temperature it is possible?

Assuming you were wearing a seamless bodysuit, like a zentai or a spiderman outfit, that was coated completely in the hydrophobic spray, you could walk into a lake, stay under for a bit, then walk out completely dry.
