I see this phrase a lot in marketing, It seems like they use that term when ever they want their product to appear edgy and up to date with mainstream pop culture to mostly appeal to young adult's.

A good example is on this OC, in a bar where they are probably trying to start a ale market for young people. But you don't see this phrase being used as much anymore thank god.
