Sick of Hollywood romances where the guy does just about all the work in a relationship, and the girl is somehow a prize just because she looks pretty, but the relationship doesn't progress naturally at all.

Girls make me sick. Men do all the work in the world, buy them things, and what do we get? NOTHING. For example, I held a door open for a girl and she didn't even let me **** her in the ass. Then I complimented her shoes, but she has a boyfriend, who is a misogynistic douchebag who abuses and hates women and is the reason why nice guys like me can't get a girlfriend. Why doesn't a woman want a man who treats her like a princess? I hate women.

I specifically mentioned "Hollywood romances" yet people seem to think I'm ranting about not having a girlfriend or something. It's not just limited to superheros either, it's most action movies and also some romantic comedies. All of them are so forced it hurts. No character development, no worthwhile interactions.

Yeah, mostly the bad ones... Although that's not always the girl's fault, because a lot of guys enter with the mindset of getting laid as many times as possible as the end-goal.

Sadly enough, it is true that there is a strong gender stereotyping that is always depicted in movies since childhood. Girls are usually the pretty looking damsel in distress, and the guy usually are the one who have to put in effort for something. But then again that's how real life is half the time.
But there are many movie that does not focus on gender role as well so it's not all bad such as Mulan or Atlantis something.

I don't mind there being a masculine, supportive role being filled by the male character. I honestly don't mind the whole "damsel in distress" trope as long as it's done in good taste. What I hate are characters like Mary Jane, who was distanced and completely uninterested in Peter Parker UNTIL he became this superhero with muscles n ****. Now she wants him, but is utterly useless, and the romance doesn't progress naturally at all... I know it's not the focus of the film, but it just felt so unnatural to me. It's like gold-digging, but with superheros instead of money.

I think a lot of people are misinterpreting my tone with this comment. I'm not complaining about women in real life, just movie tropes, especially action movies. Mary Jane didn't do **** throughout the Spiderman trilogy, all she did was reject him once, get rejected by him once, and then ****** like 3 other guys. She was always aloof and only seemed grateful towards Peter when he saved her life, and if it wasn't for that, she would still be ignoring him like always. Those are the kinds of tropes I hate, the "my romance is real even if she only loves me because superpowers," because it's ********.

More movies with romances that make absolutely no ******* sense are Transporter 3 and Dark Knight Rises.
