I went on Kotaku exactly once: they recommended Sword Art Online as one of the "smartest" shows they'd every seen, and said that anyone who considered themselves an anime fan had to watch it. After watching it and realizing that it was a steaming pile of casual bait **** , I wrote Kotaku off as a ****** site with ****** taste and sensibilities. I guess I was ahead of the curve on that one.

Its not that Kotaku are out of touch, they're trying too much to be in touch

So much in touch that they're not just touching, but molesting my hobby
with its cold and bony fingers. After the malicious act, it says that im out
of touch and says that im going to die soon if I don't stay in touch with their
pool of game journalistic diarrhea.

>Actually paying attention to gaming journalism
>Thinking you can trust the opinion of someone else
Why does anyone actually pay attention to these ******* ? I personally refuse to acknowledge any ratings or opinions on the quality of games until I'm using them as a reason to start an internet fight. Hell, everyone says Brink was **** , and I loved it. Tons of people love MMOs, which I despise with a passion.

In my non-professional opinion, what's really killing gaming is political correctness. Females must be treated like x and y, can't have x race do y thing because it's racist, etc. Much like everything else in the US, gaming is becoming strained and boxed by PCness. It's pretty ******* sad when I have to remind my kid before he gets on the bus not to touch others, not to play guns, not to take movie paraphernalia into school (he loves superheros but the movies are "too violent"), not to share his lunch, be careful about what he says, etc...for ***** sake he's 7 and it's getting way to ******* ridiculous.

Games are getting the same way. I have to wonder if when a game idea is pitched in the big leagues they have a team with a checklist to see if the game passes all of the PC grabs. Bottom line: get the **** over it. If you don't like a game for certain representations, just don't play it.

"Aww but it's a great game otherwise and I don't want to miss out, why can't they consider us and make the game more xy friendly?!" ---You know why? For 20 ******* years or more, what's been the target demographic that has generated the money? I'm not saying it's right or wrong, though I'm sure some of you will take it one way or another, but it's a methodology that works and has worked for decades. You don't market a broad product to an acute market, it doesn't make business sense.

Also, if you don't like a game for 2 or 3 parts, you have every right to write about it, discuss it, petition the game producer in a CIVIL way. Change is a great thing when implemented by logical and understanding people. The game producer, in turn, has every right to ignore your pleas, it's a free market. If they do, then those that petitioned for change have a choice: don't buy, or buy. Pretty simple **** . Of course, the problem is those that feel they are entitled to more than the average bear (yes radical feminists, I'm talking about you).

tl;dr Political correctness can go **** itself.
