Me and my girlfriend took my step-daughter to McDonalds today to do some homework (she's 5). As a reward she gets to play at the play-place. While at the play-place i noticed a little autistic boy with a large gauze bandage around his wrist not playing on the playground just staying by the steps not climbing them. My step-daughter being naturally curious and very outgoing asked him what was wrong with him. He said that he was broken because his dog bit him. The rest of the time the little boy was there she helped him climb up the steps, slide down the slide, and hold his "broken" hand. It made me feel like all the patience I've had with her, and all the manners I've been trying to teach her actually work. Made me feel so proud.
