I'm not good at making jokes and am fed up with that website that's full of nothing but porn and hippies. Incompetence and frustration isn't a very good combination and it makes for really ****** hyperbole. Sorry.

It can't be ignored. Despite the ********* aftermath of their petty squabble, half of this site's front page is nothing but crappy tumblr puns.
We are infected. The run on sentences, the cruise control for cool, the inane self-righteousness... It has taken us over, too.

Doesn't Chinese and Japanese (kanji) use the same symbols?

Kanji are (mostly) the same as Chinese characters, but Japan uses hiragana and katakana as well and that's not optional.

A thing I'd like to add. Hiragana is used exclusively for Japanese words, while Katakana is 85-90% for foreign words, mostly coming from America. And there are literally thousands of Kanji.

Last thing: there are 4 writing types in the Japanese language.

Hiragana

Katakana

Kanji

and Romagi.

Romagi is just the English letters instead of the japanese symbols

(no one likes Romagi)

Does romaji really count? Like pinyin in Chinese and romanization in Korean I'm pretty sure they're just there to help people who only know Romance languages pronounce the words.

I see you're point. I thought the same thing. I took two years of Japanese language, my Teacher told us that is in fact a writing system, not a very popular one, but it is.

And it's really confusing. Because there are different ways to use symbols that sound the same and if you use romaji It looks terrible.

Yeah there's Hiragana and Katakana which is simpler Japanese characters, then there's the Kanji which are Chinese and very much more complicated to draw.

Yeah, the Japanese language adopted Chinese symbols, but there are other sets of Japanese symbols, which are the symbols pictured above

it's not that simple. Korean okay yes thats different as far as i know, but the Japanese characters they showed are all hiragana, which is just one of the alphabets that the language uses. It gets much more complicated when you consider that Japanese use Katakana and even chinese characters in their language.

Japanese uses Kanji, but under no circumstance in Japanese is EVERYTHING in any sentence or phrase or anything consisting of more than one character ever written with ONLY Kanji.

you're statement was both correct and entirely pointless and unnecessary, congratulations!

Always looked at it like this.

Korean: Short Japanese with circles sometimes.
Japanese: Simple lines that bend when tickled
Chinese: Double layered Japanese
Vietnamese: Latin letters with cute lines blended in.
