To be fair, you have to be a bit of a cunt yourself to wear a shirt calling anyone a cunt, especially an important figure who serves as a cherished diety for millions.

It's on a metal festival. It could be just a joke. Most people I know, who visit those are not very serious about the whole thing.
Though I agree with you, it's really not nice.

I think i'de have to go with Hellspawn from Rage of the Bloodbeast.
Its heavy as ****, while simultaneously having a few nifty instrumentals and it uses both the deep growl and the high pitched screaming kind of growl, so its nice to practise growl to.

Yeah they are great to practise with, just make sure you do it right. Been making the mistake for a couple weeks to put my vocal cords under too much pressure until I learned it has to come from the diaphragm.

Also, got any tips for better breathing while growling? I have low stamina to begin with, but I'd like to last a bit longer.

Probably little you cant figure out/know yourself. I mostly just breath in very strongly/rapidly whenever i detect a slight break in the music.
Then its just a matter of perseverance untill a break occur, i guess. There probably is a trick to it, but not that one that i know, sorry.

I always try to take a deep breath during every break without inhaling too sharp, which isn't always easy. It can be extremely hard, especially in fast paced songs. Hell, I even record myself to hear what it sounds like, always seems like garbage.

In other news, have you seen the Ultramarines movie and/or read any of the novels? Recently ordered the Deus Encarmine, first chapter of the Blood Angels series.

Haven't read the novels, but i've seen the Ultramarine movie. Though its been critizised by some, i thought it was bloody ace.
Have you seen it?

And given the choise between those two, i'm actually kinda torn. On one hand, Khorn's alot more straight forward and direct, but Nurgle is just so much more disgusting and creepy with his plagues and quazi-undead fiends. Not to mention his petetual rape of that one Eldar godess.

Over all though, i'm alot more intrigued by Tzeenth (spelling?). His like a giant chaotic mastermind.

I have not heard of the rape of any Eldar goddess... that's why I'M starting to read the books.^^

Tzeentch seems like the only chaos god who could as well belong to the Imperium, if it wouldn't be so monotheistic. He doesn't seem evil or anything at all. Now I know that there is no good or evil at all in Warhammer, all just different shades of grey.

I am aware of what a pentagram actually means. It depends on the way it is drawn.

It is called Black Metal. Very few bands of any genre don't actually do/believe in what they sing about, but that should be obvious.

Well, music shouldn't resemble a "Just for fun" meaning.

You know if you're going to put a decent meaning into your song, at least have a reason to put it in and not just because it seems edgy/fun.

Death metal is too edgy for me, I could never listen past a minute of any of it.

And it sounds like every other death metal band, could never really tell the difference.

But if it floats your boat, I guess go ahead and listen to it.

I hear a significant difference between each and every band, even the ones I don't know about... but hey, that might be because I'm under metal influence since I was three years old.

And why shouldn't music be just for fun? What's the point of music if you don't have fun doing it?

Look at Amon Amarth, for example. They sing about norse mythology because it interests them, even ******* look like vikings. Doesn't mean they actually believe in Oden, they just like norse mythology.

Here some lyrics since you don't like the music: www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/amonamarth/tatteredbannersandbloodyflags.html

Making music should be a fun process, sure.

My overall point is that the general meaning should be taken somewhat seriously, if the person finds it interesting and actually knows a good bit about the subject then go ahead and put it in.

My point is that lyrics should be taken seriously, if someone were to approach you and ask you why you wrote the lyrics you did.
You should know right away and the answer shouldn't be "because it seemed like fun"

That is a very simple and boring way of creating music, why not have hundreds of deeper meanings to a song rather than just have one layer that anyone can easily depict?

I guess that is just my opinion though, I just hate to see music getting ruined by these pop cunts. (Not death metal) like Nicki minaj, having no ******* meaning to the song other than her calling me a stupid hoe.

Heh, I gotta admit your last sentence amused me.

My opinion is if you feel like the lyrics would make a good song, go ahead and make it into one. Let's take Debauchery for example, they sing about brutal murder. Why? Because it basically is a tribute to the blood god Khorne from the Warhammer universe, not because they actually like the thought of murder.

Well, no reason in really fighting over music choices.

Any opinions on music is subjective, granted you can take into account actual skill and soul they put into their music, but it comes down to what you like I guess.

If someone thought Nicki Minaj was better than Tool or a band I liked, that would be their opinion I guess, my opinion would be that they are a gigantic cunt.

I don't really know about Nicki Minaj except for that stupid hoe song, but considering every band has their fun songs I don't really think much of it. The entire genre isn't really my cup of tea, to be honest.

Not everything needs to be 10 feet deep in cryptic meaning and chthonic metaphor dude.
Listen to the bands Knorkator and Nevermore (if you haven't allready).

Knorkator is a German band that is very light hearted, and have made tracks about the lead singers burning wish to have sex with his own clone, and the pact that he invented an additional letter to the German alphabet, the "Phft" (yes. Pronounced by biting your tongue and spitting. And yes. He uses it repeadly in the song.).

Then we have Nevermore, who mostly sing about the media and government's abillity to decieve and controle, the dangers of unchecked technological expansion and the bleak dystipian future it brings with it, not to mention occultism and the suposed ghost of the lead singers (presumed) dead girlfriend that aparently haunts him (or something).

They're both awesome bands, but with very different themes. Just because Nevermore is much deeper and seriously, and has alot more meaning to their songs, dosen't make them inherently better.

Life is full of cryptic meanings, why not expand those cryptic meanings into your own art?

As i said. Not everything needs to be steeped in metaphor. Sure, its alright, but music, like literally everything else, has its silly moments. Those silly moments dont need to come from boring **** artists like Nicki-whatever all the time.

Art is about whatever you make of it. If music and drawing/painting are both forms of art, then can we not agree that stuff like Nevermore are the Giegers and the Belinski's, while stuff like Knorkator are the Justice League and Watchmen comics?
And if we can agree on that, then i must infer that i've spend alot more time in comics than i have looking at the fabulous paintings of Gieger and Belinski.
I believe this is true for society as a whole. We can easily agree that Gieger and Belinski has alot more talent than those who draw comics, but that dosen't deprive the comics of artistic sense and merit.

And then we have stuff like Neil Gaiman's The Endless series, which is both a graphic novel (comic) while having as much text as some fully fledged books. Where does it fit into this picture?

I've gone off of a major tangent here, which is in itself a tangent to a tangent, but i hope you understand my point.

I guess, I just don't think all music should have silly meaning to it is all.

I don't despise silly meanings, I just don't enjoy them. I despise artists like Nicki Minaj because she is working to turn music from art and something that achieves many great feelings in you, to entertainment.

I think we all can agree that music should not just be entertainment, it should have some emotional value to it, not just something that makes you say "Oh this is catchy, I like this" No, something that can literally change you is what music should be made for, I agree, it can have its silly moments and every band has silly things.

For example, I like Tool, they have a song about Maynards dick, but they don't make every song silly like that song.
I'm saying I don't like artists who make a living off of pure **** meanings, your music should have some value to it other than just being catchy.

It's like drugs, to use drugs only to get high is pointless.

To use them to help you get over things and help you progress rather than destroy or do nothing for you.
I think music should be looked at the same way, I tool to help you get over problems in life, it help you achieve a more positive mindset or even to make you emotional, you are a human after all.
It shouldn't just be about Justin Bieber missing his girlfriend or one direction saying I'm beautiful because I don't know it.
That is pure ******** and you and I both know that.

I dont think you understand what it means to "obliterates your beliefs". What that shirt does is insult somebody's belief, not obliterate it.
And even if it did, so what? We have freedom of speech. Its every persons right to express his disagreement with something. Essentially, somebody wearing a T-shirt like the one pictured, should be just as insulting to a Christian as a said Christians cross necklace is to a non-believer.
One is merely the confirmation of belief, where the other is the dis-confirmation of said belief (I'm not so sure dis-confirmation is a word, but you understand my point, surely.).

By all rights, i shouldn't even adress your last two sentences. I'll just say that i'm 20 years old, lives by myself and study at one of the best universities in my country.
Make of that what you will.
