Explanation: In Sid Meier's Civilization game series there are buildings called 'World Wonders," as opposed to National Wonders there can only be one of each World Wonder on the map. So if a player completes his World Wonder before yours is finished, you don't get your **** , son.

You do get a gold reimbursement though.

In the Civilization game series it is impossible (without certain perks, at least) to build a world wonder when it is already builed by another nation. When you are currently building one, it will be canceled.
Not jokexplain, but still ^^

Opinions. I've played Civ Revolution for the Xbox 360 (it was released free and I'm a cheap ****** ok?). I found it complex to start with but eventually got the hang of it. My quesiton is what is Civ5 like? Differences? Similarities? I've never been able to compete a 5-man online game in one sitting, and is the Civ5 version longer or shorter?

Also, calling gamexplain

if you liked civ revolution you will cirtanly like any of the PC civ games they are all much better

the similarities are the turn based system and the do science to progress but civ 5 is more complex and interesting

as for length there are game speed settings ranging from quick which should take an hour or two to marathon which should take a week or two

I don't know if it's just me, but I liked civ IV a lot better than V. Maybe it's just that I started with IV and am not comfortable with the change but IV just seemed so much more enjoyable to me

I'm really interested in the Civilization games, but am a bit cautious. I only have Civilization: Revolution for the 360 because my gaming tower is horribly outdated, so I want to know if there's a way to turn off the turnlimit (i.e.the game ends 2500-2800 A.D. I forget which) so that you can play for as long as you need.

I'm a bit new to it, so I always end up in the modern age just getting riflemen, because **** history.

Just for safe measure: gamexplain or gameexplain

Yeah, a lot of options are changeable. The DLC makes the game though. (sadly) It's playable without it, but with it it becomes infinitely replayable. The most important ones are Brave New World and Gods and Kings though.

When something like this happens, I become a warlord and go on a rampage trying to find and destroy whoever stole my god damn wonder. **** Ramses.

i think the best civ was still civ 3 complete

kal-ells real world with the modded rules really balanced the game nicely i think, just wish America was a race

for some reason i always start liberty and pyramids. 3 free workers very early on. the only problem is that the upkeep rapes you in the early game.

It's better than Civ 4 where if you needed gold you would just start construction on wonders that other people are already building. How does that make sense?

I NEVER even TRY to get those things made. Any other civilization ALWAYS manages to get one, the one I start on, done before me. I tend to focus solely on taking over said people.
