Sataria, I want you, specifically to see this. Not advocating the views it portrays as right or wrong, but it's an interesting alternative perspective.

TL;DR: When people talk about their goals to other people, they get recognition for it. "Oh, that's what you're planning to do? That's wonderful! Good for you!" This invokes a mental response that is not far off from the satisfaction of actually achieving the goal. Subconsciously, this may make it so that the sharer of goals doesn't actually fulfill them. I suppose it all depends on the degree to which other people hold you responsible (which, in my experience, is a mile wide but an inch deep).

The thing is, I already wrote it. Currently I am editing it, fixing all the mistakes and debating if I should send it in or not.
