I've been saving up for a couple of weeks to take my girlfriend to the nicest place in the city.
Just a way of thanking her for all she does for me.
So me and her are at the restaurant, waiting at the bar for our table.
A 65ish old man comes up and makes a comment and asks
to buy us a drink, His name is Bob, I made a joke about my age
and how I couldn’t drink. He insisted and bought us each two soft drinks.
I thought that was it, he then came up to us 5 minutes later; still at the bar.
He admired how young we were at such a mature restaurant,
jokes were said and small talk was made and I went to go sit
at our table and had the best meal you could get in Rochester, of
course. I pay the check, tip the waiter and walk to the exit where the
owner come to say thank you and all that jazz.
He then asks “Wait you guys didn’t get a check right?” I then reply
“Of course I did?” In a very confused tone. Then the owner(Rick) replies
“Oh heavens sake you weren’t supposed to, Bob Roy picked up
your check!” I was so overwhelmed someone would do that
after just a couple minutes of small talk. Just made my month really.
It’s crazy what being nice and open can do for you.
