Banning guns or video games to solve the problem of mass shootings is like taking painkillers to try and get rid of the black plague. Even if it does work, which it won't, it's masking the symptoms of a much bigger problem, and different symptoms will be created.

To whoever said they should stop giving out licences: You can buy a rifle, handgun or shotgun without a licence in America. If they do not meet certain criteria, i.e minimum barrel length, then it becomes an NFA item which requires the firearm to be registered and the owner to pay a 200 dollar tax stamp. After that, it's on a database. Firearms that do meet the criteria are not put on a database, however they can still be traced to the store that sold them and then to the person that bought the firearm through the firearm's serial number. However, the theory that legally obtained firearms are used most in crime holds little water, as in the FBI Cop Killer study, which studied 14 cases of policemen being shot, they found that in only 1 of the 14 cases the firearm was legally obtained.

To wrap up:
The facts on this page - You need to login to view this link - show it's fairly clear that gun control and murder/violent crime rates at least hold no correlation and at most are inversely proportional.

Though you are implying that either the guns or the game are to blame? Why don't we just point the finger where the blame should fall. Parents. ((Or caretaker's)) Parents are the cause for all these things. If they raised their kids right. This **** wouldn't happen. 'Did the best you could? **** your god damn excuses! You know what? I lived on a farm with a loaded rifle next to the door. And went to a high school where kids had rifles and **** loaded in their cars in the parking lot. And kids played call of duty and halo and all those other games. And guess what? No one got ******* shot! No one did anything stupid! Some stupid ****** all bent out of shape and depressed in school cause of bullies? Well the parents should have paid attention to their child better. And talked with them better! The Games have Ratings for a reason! Maybe a 6 year old shouldn't play some shooter? Duh!!! Because he is six and has yet to fully grasp imagination and reality concepts. Now when he gets older and the parents work to help the child understand these ideas. He wont get all butt hurt and shoot up his school! WOW! What a ******* novel concept! Every shooting is to blamed bad parenting. Not an inanimate object! So for ***** sake just turn off the mainstream tube for a bit and actually look at the real culprits! Even Sandyhook would have, and should have been stopped by the mother of the shooter.

>Implying people with guns in US will give you their gun
Seriously though after the Sandy Hook incident people stockpiled guns and ammo and quite a few small towns said they would fight for their right to bare arms. You couldn't find ammo for any 9mm or 5.56 in my area, even .22 LR/magnum was hard to find. To add to it one of the gun stores in my area had to close because they ran out of stock. And I live in Liberal Illinois, can't imagine how it was in the south and west. All I'm saying is banning guns will probably be worse than keeping them which is ******* ridiculous but whatcha gonna do about it
