Good lord, it's like everyone on funnyjunk is a pre-pubescent teen struggling with their repressed sexuality
Why do so many people here have so many issues with women?

The 'internet' has a problem with the femenist movement because it's primarily white males who feel like they're treated unfairly simply for being a white male.

We might be 'privileged' but they're not always good. There's plenty examples of the double standard exhibited with the extremists of both arguments, and unfortunately the minimalists on both sides are covered up by the extremes, and they clash on pages like 4chan and FJ.

The problem I have with femenists comes from these extreme views. That they're oppressed and I am an evil minion of the patriarchy simply because I'm not trans, colored, or female.

They want people to identify with them and treat them fairly, that's the movement. They portray this by protesting angrily, disrupting any opposing points with useless strawman terms and mindless screaming, and overall treating everyone around them like **** if they don't agree with them wholeheartedly.

That's why people here have a problem with women.

I don't see the problem with women joining the armed forces and going through the same training as men and fighting in the front lines like everyone else, what I see the problem is women demanding lighter training and tasks

As a woman, this pleases me. I never thought it was fair that all men in the US between 18 and 25 years old had to pretty much put their names in the bucket in the event of a draft in the questionably constitutional selective services. And actually, when I was 18, I kind of thought it was EVERYONE, not "just men," and I actually went to register once, lol. I grew up with two older brothers, so there is a lot of real equality in my house.

Regardless, I have nothing but respect for those risking their lives to keep their country safe.

As a woman, it annoys me that so much is expected of men in regards to women; don't hit women, protect women, buy drinks for women, spend money on women.

I hate femminism because it's not about equality, it's about women trying to dominate men.

Is is wrong to want actual equality?

I don't think anyone on FJ understands feminism and it pisses me off to see all the girls on here agreeing just to fit in.

fem·i·nism [ fémmə nìzzəm ]
belief in women's rights: belief in the need to secure rights and opportunities for women equal to those of men, or a commitment to securing these

That is what women and men are fighting for. NOT just women nitwits, men too. Are you even aware of what the **** is happening in the middle east? or in china? Even india? That's what they are fighting for, to help women across the world who are still seen as inferior. It pisses me off so much seeing girls say they hate feminism even though feminism was the exact thing that helped them be what they are today. The reason you can vote? Feminism. The reason you can get a good job? Feminism. The reason you can go to college? FEMINISM. All that **** has helped you today, yet you turn your nose up and spit on it? Those dumb bitches you complain about? They aren't feminist. They are misandrist. And you believeing that they are feminist is basically ******** on everything women and men have done over the years to make your life what it is today. At least they appreciate it. I know that there are some annoying ones out there. I also kno0w that not every country still need feminism, But that's no excuseto talk **** about it. I'm a women and i'm not a feminist, I don't have enough motivation to be one, but oh my **** , that kind of thinking pisses me off.

TLR Oh well

This is one of the things actual feminism is trying to acomplish. Even if in most wars women weren't in direct combat they served as cooks and nurses and worked in factories to support toeir army.
In WW2 Germany used women to work in concentration camps and they were regarded as part of the actual SS. Russia had female battalions and snipers. Even one of their princesses (Pss Eugenie Shakovskaya) volunteered as the first female military pilot in WW1. Plus there were a ******** of women crossdressing just to get in the army.
Apart from actual combat, women took over most branches of economy at the time and hepled in political matters. For example, Queen Marie of Romania not only served as a nurse in WW1 along with her daughter, Princess Mignon but she also went to France and ****** the Allies' **** up until they helped the Romanian cause and recognized the union of Romania with Transylvania, Bucovina and Basarabia.

tl;dr Women have been fighting in the military for a long time and receiving equal positions in combat as men is one of feminism's aims. It's just the butthurt raging men hating lesbians that give feminism a bad name. Most feminists hate those as much as actual Christians hate the Westbro Baptist Church.

In my opinion women should be entitled to fight, but not alongside men. They should be threated equaly and given equal tasks and training, but positioned in female-only units in order to prevent romances between soldiers and pregnancies.

< pic related, it's Roza Shanina, Soviet sniper with over 50 confirmed hits and she probably lifted, too.

I hope they put them through equal requirements as men too. Don't make it ******** standards like here in the US where all the pt requirements for women are almost half of what men have to get.
User avatar #356 - monkee (08/07/2013) [+] (3 replies)
The difference between radical feminists and ordinary feminists is:
Radical feminists will hate this, saying it's further female oppression.
Ordinary feminists will love this, as they want a gender blind society.

Bunching all sects of feminism together is the same as bunching all sects of Christianity together. They're not the same. From what I hear the American Feminist movement is a bunch of snarling drooling extremists, so I can understand some of the Americans on this site going mental.
#304 - herbolifee ONLINE (08/07/2013) [-]
This is seriously good. The american-lesbo type of feminists (don't whine about my term please) will hate it, while the real respectable feminists will actually love this.

Here in Mexico we have obligatory Military Service for men but is optional to women.

I haven't heard a feminist claiming for equality in this.
