Could someone explain this game to me?
I'm not understanding exactly why/ how it'll be a game.
It seems to me more or less like a sandbox or an in-game version of "Cr34t3 a g4m3!1111!!1".

I just don't see much potential in it, especially since it calls for you to mod it yourself.
You'd be better off with Garry's Mod. It's cheap, highly modifiable, and there are more resources available.

Also, the company is asking to raise $1.5mil to publish the game.
Not to mention that they aren't allowed to use Kickstarter for it anymore, so they're using PayPal...

They are using freaking PayPal.
Which means, if they don't ever hit their goal, they're just sitting on your money doing nothing with it. No real incentive to push forward to develop the next goal unless it's hit.

Inb4 FJ bandwagons the **** out of a highly experimental pre-alpha sandbox 'create a game' game.

**** sake dude, I'm scrolling down the page and you just seem to become more of a fanboy with each scroll of my mouse wheel.

You're giving people false information, IT IS NOT 1.5MIL TO PUBLISH AT ALL, the money raised will go towards production of the game and each 'goal' gives you an idea of specifically what they will use the money for.

Oh really? What happens if they don't hit any of their goals?

What happens if they just stay where they are at now?
Barely any of the game will be made and released.

The full product, what they want it to be, needs to hit every goal.

Now, it isn't on Kickstarter and is instead using PayPal.
That means if they decide to stop development of the game then you made a bad investment.

Now, stop getting all butthurt at a different view.
Just because I'm more or less opposing funding the game doesn't mean you have to get super defensive.

I'm not getting butthurt, I was pointing out the fact you're fanboying Gmod so hard you can't see the potential this game has, to be what Gmod couldn't.

And it makes no difference whether they use PayPal or Kickstarter or not, they get the funding for the project in the same amount anyway, I don't even know where your logic is when you talk about the bad investment.

And you don't know anything about this, I'm not claiming to be an expert but anyone can see just by simply READING the Project Awakened website that they will be releasing it anyway, the money put forward by backers just helps to achieve their goals faster and focus on the production of the game rather than the funding.

They explain all this in the video if you cared to even watch it before spewing nonsense.
