I don't like MLP... quite frankly I hate it... but the reason I heard some time ago was because "It is their way of escaping the horrible reality we live in"... a good argument I guess, I just make me think ONE thing.

There are 2 types of people... those who don't like the world as it is and escape to a magic pony filled cartoon land... and those like me who wish we were living in the Warhammer 40.000 universe.

or something like that...

the maker of the show made it so both kids and the adults could watch it together, she just never expected the adults to like it more...
not going to start a conversation btw.

It's just something nice for a change. It's got a simple message and has cartoon humour, some of which is pretty clever.

>Completely unaggravated labels him as pedo

You're not very bright, are you?

Hold it right there.

I'm not the smartest guy out there, but smart enough to see that you are in the wrong here. I myself watch MLP because I like the character developement, that they don't have such a monotone character. Instead, they feature basically everything.. sadness, joy, depression, love, heck, even insanity. I like the plot of the show, and the moral of each story, as well as the hidden messages in many episodes and that you often have things to figure out yourself.

I hope that is answer enough for you.

Well, I think those were all good points made.
That is...except the part "I'm not the smartest guy out there, but smart enough to see that you are in the wrong".

That, pretty much made your well put together argument fail.
I'm obviously asking for people's opinions because I don't know why people like MLP.
I'm searching for a strong argument to the weak ones I've gotten so far.
I can't be in the wrong for others not giving me a compelling enough argument.

That would make my argument that I'm not the smartest guy more than valid. Sorry 'bout that, kinda just woke up at that point.excusesexcuses

It just made me upset how you labeled him a pedo simply because he wasn't able to explain WHY he likes the show. Sometimes you enjoy something and don't know why, in that case you can't explain it.

It seems like many of the people that watch MLP are unable to explain their liking.
They just like it.

I think my post stems from one thing:
There seem to be many bronies that push MLP onto others.
Every joke has to be a pony in it, everything has to be related to a pony...
So I think people lash out because of their complete annoyance of it.

I guess this is the same for Doctor Who as well.
I'm a Doctor Who fan and find that other fans are annoying as hell when it comes to that series.

Now that this is clarified, I guess we can all agree on one thing.

I'm not a brony myself, but when someone gets provoked don't expect then to not bite.
From what I see is you just have a problem with the age group the original series is aimed at. It's like saying "Only young children should watch disney films" when practically the stories and such in the films are anything but for children. My opinion? They're not watching something bad at all (snuff, for example). Let them watch it without questioning it.
Thing I do have a problem with is that it appears everywhere that's not pony related... But that's my problem with most things.

You sound like you're looking for attention.

Have you tried actually watching the show? No? give it a try, or not, I really don't care. Yes? good for you, at least you took some initiative but you shouldn't be an asshole about something you didn't enjoy.

If you look below in comment #16, you'll find that I do in fact appreciate input.
No need to be angry.
I am genuinely curious.
I have watched the show once and found it very catered toward younger children.
Therefore, my confusion.
