The autism spectrum is amazingly complicated as it ranges from low to high functioning and a huge amount of disorders, some people you meet are autistic but you cant tell simply because they are high functioning, I myself am autistic (I was lucky enough to have Asperger syndrome which is high functioning)

No its not, autism is a generic term used to describe several disorders, only some have problems with communication.
